Samsung Nx 10 ?

With no reviews and date problem which shouldn't happen at all, this is a good camera.

Then what is a bad camera? Paper specs is not everything.

Without a major DSLR maker coming in to support the mount, I think Samsung will have a hard time. They are relatively unknown (except in Korea) as a DSLR/EVIL maker, and no one is convinced at the moment that they will commit to the mount in the future.

Samsung has released a new body firmware 1.05 (15-Mar), hopefully they have fixed the problem.

yeah, it already fixed the date problem arlight. :)

I agree with Pinholecam, but their success in DSLR will depend on their perseverance. I'm just thinking why Samsung electronics merged with Samsung imaging? More funding perhaps? :dunno:

Well they are a big enough company to make things happen if they want. Only time can tell though. I wonder if SG will have a similiar deal as the UK where the set comes with both the 30mm/2 and the 18-55 kit.

There were reviews after the camera was launched in seoul a month or two back, but there were taken down as fast as they were put up, probably samsung had something to do with this.

I will be very interested to see how the NX10 fares, especially since I have ordered one :) I should receive my NX10+30/2 sometime next week. I paid AU$766 for it.

After coming from SLRs, I had a GF1+20 for a while but returned that due to the lack of IBIS. Then I got an EP1+20 but have just sold that due to the slow AF, lack of flash and uncomfortable handling. I'm hoping the bigger sensor of the NX10 and the nice grip (which I tried in a shop) combine to make the ultimate camera for me.... but of course there may never be such a thing!

Hey Chylld,

Where abouts did you get the NX10 for that price?

I have tried at teds camera and the best they can give me is $800 with the pancake.

Thanks

Its not a bad camera especially with the 30/2 lens. How did you find the size of it compared to your GF-1?

By the way, 43rumors mention that maybe might have a new improved EVF for the GF-1 soon.

NX10 is slightly bigger, but didn't feel much heavier probably because of the good grip compared to GF1.

I don't have EVF on my GF1, taking photos outdoor could be a pain sometime. Under bright condition, can't see LCD clearly, so sometime it is hard to tell if exposure/focusing is right. NX10's AMOLED display looks better, but I haven't tried it outdoor yet before I returned it.

Ted's actually :) Use their online price match function to match with this.

Agree with this; I brought my EP1 with me when I went to try the NX10 in the store, and the EP1 seriously felt twice as heavy. The grip on the NX10 is awesome.

The pancake 30f2 actually is good but build quality is just so-so. But it's quite unfair co'z I'm comparing with pentax pancakes.

I could agree more, the grip, feel and build of the cam is very good. but I don't like the Jaggy JPEG output and the humongous size of Raw data file.

Checked out their NX10 display in VIVO City, their 18-55 kit lens is too big, I feel Pentax k-7 kit lens is still sharper, smaller, shorter and better built with 52mm filter thread against 58mm for samsung... :(

and happened to be Pentax's kit lens is much much more cheaper...

Big failure!! I just called Samsung and the 30/2 kit is not due to arrive in Australia for another 2-3 weeks :( This does not bode well with my flight out of the country next Monday!

So I have 2 options: get the 18-55 kit, or choose another camera altogether. This is going to be a big holiday and I won't be caught without a good camera for the life of me aaaargh
