haiz... its it at 599 at tdy PC show... no longer bargain... but its come with all the freebies.
The only things is does not come with external charging... werid that samsung left this out ?

i just bought ex1, it is a nice cam. the white balance is amazingly accurate. still trying to get use the control.

but i have a problem here. does anyone know how to open the .srw file using photoshop cs4?

even after updating the raw converter, still cant open in cs4. any solution?

other than the common issues like no external charger, short charging cable and the horizontal strip bar at the bottom of the screen, its a great cam!

specs wise, this is "almost" my dream compact cam.. but then... the neutered hotshoe is just plain disappointing.. :bheart:

Unless i see another 499 deal...

Anyone can show how much bigger isit over the S90? ;p

It was 499 last sunday. But without the freebies. Only comes with the case

share your experiences .... those who have the EX1 ?

Independent external flash units CAN be used with the camera ............. with the wireless flash trigger/receiver

It triggers in A , S and M shooting modes

Hehe.. I even use it to take picture of my fast moving goldfish. will post the pic tonight.

WOW! Care to clarify.. does this only work for a PT-04 trigger, or does it work for manual flashes attached directly to the hotshoe too? I'm planning to use an SB800 with it.. I don't need TTL, just good ole center pin triggering =)

Oh dear now really tempted to get this cam ha!

NO..... attaching an external non-Samsung flash unit onto the camera's hotshoe will NOT trigger the flash.... just tried it this evening

External non-Samsung flash units can be triggered (so far) via wireless trigger attached to hotshoe

Well, EX-1 is another camera that you don't have to pay alot to get among the best in PnS. In a nutshell from LuminousLandscape review ...

Conclusion
There's a lot to like about the Samsung EX-1. Build quality is exemplary – a notch above what one usually finds in this price point. The lens is as good as it gets for a camera in the price range, and indeed better than many. Ergonomics and other handling issues are par for the course, and again, better than most.

Image quality is on a par with other cameras of this type, and the EX-1 in no way suffers by comparison with competing models from Canon or Panasonic. It's only when it comes to its primitive video capability that the EX-1 owner is let down. If video isn't important to you then not to sweat, if it is you'll likely want to look elsewhere.

Fast lens, great lens, solid build, decent IQ, smooth handling – what more can one want from a pocket camera in this price range. Highly recommended.

duh... make a guess... the camera does not discriminate....if the transmitter can be triggered........ then....

Haha thx. I'm just worried about the possibility of short circuits given that there might be more than 1 pin in contact for the case of SB800.

APOLOGIES ahsos... I was wrong

duh again.... this time for me .... apologies i made a wrong assumption..... plugged my Sunpak into the hotshoe this evening and the flash will not even cycle when turned on.... and flash could not shoot..............but with wireless trigger, it triggers the flash (attached to a receiver)

sorry again

Aww.. It's ok..

But yar.. tt's wad i'm worrying about. I'll bring my flash down to test it out for myself then. thanks!

maybe u can set ur flash to manual mode instate of ETTL or ITTL. It should fire

yesterday went down to mscolor intending to get a LX3 (which i've been looking at for a REALLY long time), and the salesperson showed me the EX1 too. it's a really chio camera, controls and menu are quite easy to navigate also as compared to LX3. mscolor e-quoted me $599 with free 8g card, case, extra battery for EX1. sigh which one should i get? need to get the camera soon to get used to the controls before i go for my overseas trip!

same problem i have with my canon g2, non canon flash will not work, even those single pin type. but with pt04, no problem.
