Safari and Firefox Crashes often

Finally, somebody shares my woes. Yes, I have crashes for both Safari and Firefox whenever I logged on to clubsnap after a cartain time frame.

You can imagine I am racing against time while going thru Clubsnap forum. Have asked around but til now, no remedy.

Any help?

Yesterday managed to sustain for quite a long time with no crashes. Notice that I did not have many applications opened. Will experiment if this isone of the reasons in using mac.:)

are u using safari 3? It seems to clash with quite a few websites as well as messenger. I revert back to safari 2 and everything works well. Also check your patches from Apple. (there seems to be problems with one of the latest)

i am getting this too. at first i thought it was just FF and switched to Safari, but Safari crashes too. usually happens when i'm loading CS threads in background tabs and then click on another link in the current page. i've switched back to using FF with flash and javascript disabled. so far so good...

me using safari too, but no problems on my side

Intel Macbook 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo
1.25GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Mac OS X 10.4.10
Safari Version 2.0.4 (419.3)

Crashes when i open more than 7 - 10 threads, at the B&S section. hope this info helps.

been looking at this thread for some time. didnt want to say anything but seems many are complaining about firefox and safari. so i decided to voice my opinion...

honestly speaking, macs are usually known for print design work, or music, and also video-editing. when it comes to "lifestyle" issues like web-surfing, macs are the worst. their own Safari is a big mistake, firefox and ie are unstable, and most browsers on mac cant display websites properly. if u notice friendster and many other sites display weirdly on macs and their intended layout goes hay-wire. but apple might have fixed this problem im not sure cos havent used mac for a very long time.

i disagree... but i'll leave it at that since this is not the right place for this discussion.

for me, i am only having crash trouble in FF and Safari when multi-tab browsing ClubSnap. the rest of my regular web usage remains unaffected.

I'm using Safari, but nothing is wrong with anything. I usually open up to 20+ tabs to view my fav sites all at once, and even then I open additional Safari windows. It doesn't crash unless I open dozens of Youtube or Quicktime videos + a pdf. I think the crashing might have something to do with configurations - maybe too many apps running at the same time? Or you need a disk repair.

normally i would have only mac messenger and safari running...with one window. i'm not sure about older versions, but i haven't seen any troubles of it displaying templates, except for those sites where they don't allow you to view unless you're running mozilla.

must be a conflict with bank 1.0

use internet explorer.
long live bill gates.
resistance is futile.

despite all the crap of how unstable windows is, bill jus made US$3 billion from crappy vista alone.
*nix community go eat that.

they say i m too stoopid to use *nix.
suits mi fine.

I am using safari 2. Seems fine. Maybe you shld revert back to ver 2. More stable.

try these...
1. quit safari/ff/etc and remove their respective preference files and cache
2. if you update your os, download and use the combo update
3. start disk utility and repair permissions - also do this after each os update

hmm...my safari is ver 2...3 always crashes on me...i clear history and cache everyday too...and disk repair every week...not sure if it worked since becos i've refrained from opening too many tabs...haha. i guess that may be as well the best solution.
