It is a "he". Albeit one with a very dubious record, IMO. Coz I know who and what he is.

haha ... thank for still remember who i am ;)
Me with dubious record? haha .... so you call me kettle or call me black ? so hows life? still changing 'best' friends every 3 months ?
GOD know ... :nono:

tat time haven't get the S5Pro.. now um tui.. :bsmilie:

The 4GB Extreme III is selling at $145 for the first 2 days of the fair and $160 on the last day. Perhaps you can wait till the next PC Show.

While I have been seeing the comparison between S5 and D200, can anyone can do a comparison for the S3 and S5? Need to compare the dynamic range and colors output.

Thanks!

ouch... :bheart:

or get EG's ridata CF cards lor? i think the offer still on?

yeah..$109 for 4Gb,IIRC..but the 150x is oni read speed..will consider..

I use Transcend's 2GB 120x CF. I have absolutely no problem at all chasing after my niece and photographing her yesterday. Writing speed still very decent, although not as fast as the Canon EOS 1Ds Mk2 I use at work (an unfair comparison, of course).

I love your garden and that swimming pool.....;p

I've got big problems doing panning shots at Motorcross Challenge 2007 wif Kingston CFs..think the transcend one is abt same speed..

I understand that there are parallel import versions of the Sandisk Extreme III in Singapore. I don't know about their warranty terms and conditions though.

I learnt from Lynn of Orient Photo at Sim Lim Square that even in China, there are at least 4 or 5 different versions of the Extreme III.

Oh..now i start to worry..think Ridata no cheong one rite..

Buy...Buy....Buy...

BUT
basic CCD cleaning at Fuji Service Centre costs $89 and it is not covered by the warranty. That is 3.3 times more expensive than Nikon and 4 times more than Canon.

Huh!

Couldn't wait..when i was using my D70s..i can hardly use up a 1Gb because of the lousy WB and incosistency in color..when i shoot using the S5Pro, i shoot wif more comfort, hence clocking more shots..

Only down side of this camera is its speed..

Yeah, the D70 has poor white balance (not to mention the noise) and I am really tired of all the post processing work.

BTW, 4GB SanDisk Ultra II prices have fallen to about S$100. Simply unbelievable! I still like SanDisk for reliability and easy compatibility with almost all devices and computers. Is there a real difference in speed between the Ultra II and Extreme III when using the S5?

btw...firmware 1.04 for s5 pro released.

The firmware update Ver.1.04 incorporates the following issues.
1. Better white balance when setting FLASH-mode for the WHITE BLANCE.

2. Better white balance when setting AUTO-mode for the WHITE BLANCE and using Nikon non-CPU lenses.
*It requires to set the maximum aperture according to the FinePix S5 Pro Owener's Manual(p.121-p.124).

tat is wat i've been pondering over the last few days..not sure the slowness izzit due to the noise reduction or speed of the R/W speed of the CFs..but 1 thing for sure is that, when set to 400%(W2) D-Range, the S5Pro gets even slower..hope to do some test if i manage to borrow a Sandisk ExIII before BBB..

Thank you for the info..

eh... u dun use fuji cams for speed lor... i using a 2nd-hand s2pro now... DAT is slow. :bsmilie:

I can compromise speed for accurate WB, low noise, vibrant colors reproduction, high dynamic range, and many more good features to come...:D

ya..s3pro also dog slow..but i love it

yeah, simply love the output..

Using Ultra IIs and Extreme IIIs with my S3s and on the loan S5. In the S3 no noticeable difference. But when I did RAW+Jpeg on the S5... the difference is there, albeit slight. It is a D200 body after all, so I suppose you can expect some faster read/write. Then again speed isn't why I'd use the Fujis.

Tried flash photography wif S5Pro last nite..couldn't achieve hi-speed sync..any shutter speed above 1/250 will get top part of the pic darken out..its not an electronic shutter after checking the web site..but the WB wif flash is super accurate on AUTO and FLASH WB..tested wif firmware 1.04..

Bro, you are making me itch...

a few quick questns:

does the S5pro produce true 12 MP image using the silkypro s/w like on the S3pro?

in the 12 MP processing, does the DR thingy still work? (do u still get the 400% flexibilty)

thx. :)

anyone tested the battery life of the s5(say compared to d200)?

also, with AAs with the vertical grip?

thanks!!!! very tempted to get s5..

Haven't tried the AAs..but a single NP-150 battery clocks abt ~380 shots on full charge..not sure wif a D200..but my D70s use to clock more..maybe is due to the bigger LCD, noise reduction, and image processor..all battery sucker..:bsmilie:

I spent the entire afternoon today testing my S5 Pro that have been upgraded to the latest 1.04 firmware.

Here are what I found out:
 1. The overall tones on Flash White Balance mode look much warmer especially when I bounce my SB-800 60-degree upwards on a white ceiling. However, if I use direct flash, the tones are accurate. Images shot using SB-800 with the S5 Pro set to Auto WB mode look accurate also.
 2. Using studio strobes, namely Bowens and Jin Bei, look a bit warm on Flash WB mode. As predicted, images shot using Auto WB with strobes look accurate.
 3. Images shot using Elinchrom light heads on Flash WB mode have very balance tones.
 4. Outdoor portraitures with Flash WB mode look a tad bit too warm also.
Overall, I found the WB after installing the new firmware a bit too warm for my liking, unless care is taken to ensure proper WB. In most cases, I will prefer to put to Auto WB.

I thought S5pro is a 12 MP pixels camera and can produce 12 MP image?? bcoz I saw the spec stated that the effective pixels is 12.34 million? Actually, I'm still struggling whether I should buy D200 or S5pro. So far, that's no evidence to prove that the image produced by S5pro in terms of printing quality/size(e.g A4, A3 size..etc) is better that D200.
