Picture 3 is a good shot! Picture 4 will be more interesting if you on that Canon camera's liveviewer & focus on it so the picture is somehow 3 dimensional. When taking photos, juz remember every picture tells a story. Anyway, are all these photos taken using Shutter Priority mode??

Thanks for the comment! :)

Picture 1 & 4 is on P mode.. I let the camera adjust it settings for me, as I was quite busy that time.. Hehehe, saves the trouble to adjust settings though..

The rest were on Shutter priority mode coz I take photos of trains.. It's about speed.. Hahaha..

I want to move on to DSLR.. But I think twice that, Im very happy with the S2000HD now..

DSLR now is getting cheaper as new models are coming out very fast. I also have Canon EOS450D but the thing with DSLR is you must be ready to spend for the lens. Sometimes, I think I would rather stick to prosumer as it's much more convenient to use (i.e. no need to change lens for zoom or macro)...Of course, DLSR has better DOF and focus points.

Hmm, yeah the lens is the problem.. That's what puts me off if i wanna get one....

I, myself, am saving up for macro lens for my Canon so meanwhile I'm using the Fuji for macros...very expensive...

how much is the S2000HD roughly ? hwere u guys bought ur s2000hd ? thinking of getting one..

list price is 499, but you can get it for much less at MS colour in AMK, Alan Photo in SLS, or John 3:16 at Funan. ;)

How's the shot? In what way can I improve from here..

Nice shot! But which subject are you trying to focus on??

Hi Guys,

Need your insights to the S2000HD's video function. I'm contemplating to get this for making clips as well as still shots. I've seen their promo video but can't really appreciate it as it was an edited piece. Any views or links appreciated.

Thanks.

I rarely used the video functions but S2000HD shoots in mp4 format, which i must say is convenient during video editing. See the link below taken by a guy unedited. See whether it helps.

Focusing on the leaves? Hahaha, I dont have any motive when I took this shot.. But since it has been focused on the dried leaves, so maybe that's it?

If you are really focusing on the leaves, then it's preferably that the background is simple and go nearer to the subject. If the camera is placed on the ground and tilted upwards to focus on the runner, then it will be more interesting too...

Hi Dayot, Thanks for the link. Video quality seems acceptable. can't say much on the mic quality except for the MC engine sound at the end.

Does anyone else with info? esp the built in mic, quality of sound reproduction?

Hi, would like to share one more picture..

Posted ON deviantart, got 5 favs, 30 views.. After uploading, many messages came spamming to my DA.

Nice pic! Juz a suggestion. Try using the bracketing function of this camera to take this type of shot. Then make a HDR, you can see the texture of the sky better...

Ok, will try next time.. But I doubt there would be this scene again...

Hmm, what software to use for HDR? Photomatix have the watermark there..

You can try Qtpfsgui or FDRTools basic. Both are freeware but has limited control for HDR. I think Photoshop also has HDR functions but not as good as Photomatix as it doesn't do tonemapping. I'm currently using both Corel Paintshop Pro Ultimate & Photomatix.

The sound is mono.
Thats one drawback.
And when you shoot, best is to remain static, if u zoom in / out or pan, u might get moments of out of focus as the lens takes time to focus onto the subject. Ideal for concert, just set up tripod and let it do the job.
