did you edit yr pics first before uploading?

Some yes...like the Genting sunset is a HDR using Photomatix, the moon is unedited but I only resize it & the Labrador Park sunset, I only clarified & sharpen it. I'm using Corel Paint Shop Pro X 2 Ultimate...

Oic. normally if my pics dont turns out great, colors quite wrong.. i always try to edit them.. my friends say abt the HDB houses i took.. they asked me, eh, why your picture of the house looked like a model house to them.. i was like, huh???

The HDB flats are OK but the sky is too blue, making the whole picture look somehow...not right...Try to balance out the colours...Anyway, what did you do to the HDB pic? My Marina Bay pic is unedited, the sky is it's natural colour cos I took the pic at 7.30 evening...

I just put my s2000hd up for sale. I bought a e410dslr with a zuico 35mm lens and a 14-42mm as well.
I must say after I saw your pics I think I'll keep it as a second camera. Excellent work I wish I knew more about your settings. I always used chrome and I'm stopping that right now.

Do not sell the camera away...The S2000HD is my second camera to my DSLR Canon 450D. I find this camera convenient as I do not have to change lens. Of course, there are some limitations with the focus points as compared to my Canon which has 9 AF points. But overall, I'm very happy with the camera especially with the supermacro functions. Which pics setting would you like to know??

The night shot and the grasshopper are the ones I'm more amazed by. I don't think you did anything to those did you?
I think the biggest thing with your pictures looking so amazing is you. The person behind the camera. Composition.

;p Anyone can take a good picture...juz need some training & patience. The bug is taken using the supermacro mode of the S2000HD. U need to use a tripod or a stable stand if taking night shot with this camera. For the night scene, I use P mode and let the timer do its work so that the camera does not shake when I press the shutter.

haha, just wanna enhance my pics..

anyway, yeah. chrome is best when taking pictures with mostly greeneries or skies.. if i remember correctly la..

anyone shoots at 8mp? 16:9 reso.. i wanted too, but, it would look weird, as in, the dimension.. hahaha..

but, S2000HD... is a good camera.. its quite handy to me though.. although there are some lapse in between viewing the pic, maybe for 1.5 sec, then when i want to take pic, it would take quite awhile to go back to the LCD or EVF(Depends which you choose, i shoot in EVF)..

normally i shutter priority. i love speed. :) too bad this cam got no aperture priority, but if i want to, i will use portrait mode.. hehehe..

night shots i usually use manual mode, and adjust to settings i want.. if really cant, i use night mode.. hehehe.

anyway, dayot, can you help me? i want to knw, the difference between multi focus, spot focus and average focus.. and which one is better... thanks ;)

Hmm..I'm not that expert but I'll try...
Multi-focus is when the camera focus on one of several different focus points within an image. If you use Multifocus mode, sometimes the picture might not be very clear (out-of-focus) cos the camera might be focusing something that you don't want.

Spot focus is when the camera focuses on a very precise center area of the screen. This is good if the subject is still. Some say this focus method is very good to snap the full moon...

I presume when you meant average focus is the typical autofocus functions.

If you like to snap moving subjects, then the continuos AF will be a very good choice.

Hope these helps!

ic.. because the camera has this setting.. it said multi, spot, average.. i tried one by one, but cant seem to spot the difference between multi and average, although there are small differences... but the spot has alot of difference.. but the background looks... overexpose?

Yup..this camera is some focusing issues...I usually leave the camera to "AF centre" cos u can do focus locking. I rarely use multi focusing as I said previously that it will focus on something that I do not want.

erm.. i think we got confused? haha, sorry. but im talking abt the photometry thingy..

Hmm...if you are to look at the camera's manual pg. 80...it did tell you about the differences among them.

So it all depends on the subject. For normal shooting, then just use multi.
If your subject is at a very bright/dark background (example someone standing under a bright sunlight or taking the moon pic), then you can use spot.
Average is good if you want to take landscapes pics & especially if you have the intention to do photostitching...

Juz sharing some of my collections taken by S2000HD...C&C welcome...Happy viewing!

Hello all! these are some of the first pics ive taken with my 2kHD. I havve ZERO knowledge of how to use the settings so thats my next step. these are all non-edited full auto shots. the ones with cars were taken in the continuous shooting mode at 5MP, the young boy was taken at 10.0MP again full auto- i have a few ideas on how to add a Lens Hood- if i get it to work i will gladly share the info!

Hello...nice cars pics. McCallum! Try to learn the other functions of this camera. You need not use continuous shots if you have master the focusing part of this camera. But again, if you want to use continuous shots, try to refrain from using 5mp...How I learn to use the camera previously was to shoot in auto mode first, learn the settings from the pics, then try it with other manual modes. S2000HD have lens hood??? I have not heard of it but if you know about it, then let us know...

Hi guys,

I am in looking to get either S2000HD vs F 200 EXR. Any idea which is better? More of taking photos and video of my kid. Any good advice?

Well..u can't get a perfect camera. While F200EXR is compact and better pixel compared to S2000HD but S2000HD video is in Mpeg4...
F200EXR is a full auto camera whereas S2000HD, you can tweak the functions...

Hope these helps!;)

yeah- i have been playing with the macro feature and will be learning to use the ISO settings- i have a couple excellent pics with altered ISO - so tehre is hope!.
