#1. wrong focusin.. i presume u wld wanna focus on e person dere and e ppl in e background is blur rite? idea is dere.. but do watch e focusin.
#2. normal paparazzi shot given dat e boy is nt lookin at ur camera.. quite decent in terms of sharpness. but pity his right hand is cropped off.. and e black part at e bottom right of e pic. (presumin it's someone's hair) is distractin.
#3. typical national day shot.. alittle red. but in reference to e next pic., i presume e sunset contributed to e redness.
#4. great coloration.. wld prefer a tighter crop wif e black thin at e bottom cropped off and e apache more to e right of e pic.
#5. do not really understand e composition of wat u're tryin to achieve.. but guess it's e sky. which makes e spot light extremely distractin as e white is strong and attracts e eye to it more den e sky.

My fav doll is the one wif white dress looking bored posing for me ;)
#1. e head dere ruined a potential pic.
#2. not much of a composition but as u say, it's juz a pic. to show e power of e zoom of e Sx series.
#3 & #4. sry to say, but e pics. of both pics. do nt appeal to me.. perhaps it's dat it's seems to me like a general shot (as in juz shoot for memory). e legs and some body parts are cropped off and all.. and for #4., e green shirt person dere is distractin. smth u cld work on is to take individual 'portrait-like' pics. of e dolls.. esp. e bored lookin one.

Thanks for the feedback.
the cosplay doll event is quite crowded and was open to their members only... It was taking from far using max zoom

It looks hazy to me...may be can up the contrast a bit...then can play with curve to brighten up the shadow, a bit too....

Then for my personal taste, I would up the saturation a bit too...

But if you dun do PP, then it's ok:) :bsmilie:

As for the title, I would stand by the road to capture more of the road and let it diminishes at the horizon....just my preferences.:D

Edit: Hey! I am now viewing from another monitor and the pic is not too dark! May be the monitor in my comp is too dark....but still hope the shadow not to be there...sorry for the wrong comment.

Looks like you had a filter. Which one? The corner distortion and blurriness is fairly obvious.

had nt been posting here for quite awhile already.. a pic. out of my archive.

sry to OT.. comparin e above S2 shot wif tis frm a 350D. certainly do miss e slight bit of zoom of e S2.. and definitely e IS. at 320mm, alittle shake wld render image blur already.. e IS does help to quite an extend for e 432mm of e S2.

Nice shots! I like the composition and subject of #1.

One thing, the DCR 250 gives a really thin DOF. What I normally do is fire burst mode, so that at least one of my shots comes out focused at the right spot. For insect macros, you need to get the eyes in focus. Also, you really need alot of light to get clear shots. Some of your shots seem to be suffering from handshake. Unfortunatly, you cannot use the onboard flash, as the lens normally will block it. I made a flash diffuser with a film canister, that seems to help at times. Best is to get a slave flash.
