Of course you are right. PP cannot change much of the composition unless every pic you take is super wide, then slowly crop...but having the PP skill is never a wrong thing, cos like you say, it can enhance pic (be it from bad to good or good to better).

Anyway, the SLR users plays with darkroom tricks (for BW self develop) to enhance the exposure for diff part of the pic with masking too....so for digital era, PP is also applicable...rite?:)

This is my opinion on PP. But of course shoot correctly is the most important....but some times PP is a must, like HDRI, no way without PP...for S3.

Post processing should be used as a tool to enhance pictures, and we should not over-rely on it to make up for bad composition and technical skills.

I took more movies than photos for fireworks. Too bad most of my shots were fired a bit too early or a bit too late, so I missed the bursts. No bulb mode on my little toy.

fireworks are alittle too at e base for my likin already. btw, do u all prefer single burst or multi-burst shots (like a whole mass of fireworks together)?

That is part of Benjamin Sheares Bridge. Makes it look tilted. A crop might look better.

I prefer two to three bursts, anything more then that produces too much smoke and shots will also tend to get overexposed.

sry to OT again ppl.. here's a shot frm me (350D wif kit lens). izit too messy? i kind of like e effect produced though..

Personally, I do not like fireworks shots where the light trails have started to curl down. Hence my lack of nice fireworks pics....

Do not think it is that messy. The light trails are exposed nicely and you do not have any smoke in the picture. Do you shoot using bulb mode?

it's all abt. personal preference.. :bsmilie:
yupz.. in bulb mode. easier to control dat over long exposure.. can open and close shutter as and when u fyl dat e picture is gettin too messy or overexposed or simply, u had enuf of bursts in ur picture. tried usin long exposure for my first trip, didnT work.. too under or too over.

Yeah, bulb really helps. I had to guess the timings and press the shutter, missed out on a lot of shots. You just need about 2 to 2.5 sec per shot. f8-16 is normally enough.

What was nice in this photo is that it's very clear and not very smoky, but the composition is quite weird since there is nether space in the bottom part (either space of the sky, or the ground).

:)

i think i would prefer seperated blooms instead of a whole mass, it just destroys the joyful atmosphere for me. :)

you can try setting long exposure with ur S2, 15sec, then use black card to cover when u want to stop or pause. but 1 thing bad abt this is that you will miss out a lot during the processessing cos 15sec exposure takes so long to save. :bsmilie:

Anyone here interested for cheap model shoots or not ar? Got good lobang here which I found in one of the thread, http://forum.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=215480

since it's cheaper then usual i think i could intro to other SX users, good chance to experiance.

PS: Sorry to have off tracked.

Yeah, you cannot turn off the noise reduction.

Hi cerebrus,

Tot at the BSB can catch the CBD as the background? If not than my view at the Marina foodcourt is about the same....I like multiple burst actually.
