cerebrus, where do you get the salt spray from when the bridge is so high up?? The sea breeze?
I was not on BSB, was on esplande bridge. There is a walk way on BSB.

the is a flight of stairs at the consturction site opposite of Millenia Walk, it's far away from Esplanade.

The highway got pedestrian walkway mah, we just crowd there lor. The police only interfere with the cars on the trafic. :bsmilie:
How was the view from up there? I am thinking of going there tomorrow.

May be your hand so steady can put the cap on without moving your tripod mounted cam....I surely cannot.:bsmilie: :bsmilie:

the black card must be rough mah (in order to absorp the light instead of refelcting it)? I was thinking about bringing one when sitting on the toilet bowl this morning. :bsmilie:

one question, why bring a black card instead of covering it with the lense cap?? :dunno:

I did, lousy shot.....no view, tot if the fireworks is high, can shoot with Esplanade as the foreground...

so you didn't shoot anything?

Oic. Thanks.

Oic, thought you were up at the BSB...

Its the spray from the river. Even light winds will cause some of the water to come up, it evaporates & leaves all the salt behind.

I think the view won't be too good if the fireworks is so low....the fireworks will be under/blocking the city....I think your view underneth at the Esplanade Waterfornt will be better.....post some sample view leh.

Just going up there to try. Will be back at Esplanade bridge on Fri. Will post soon, I spent more time looking at fireworks then shooting them.

is that becos u are standing somewhere near the merlion? Would it affect me if i'm at BSB instead?

Hey, I read from one of the thread here is that you need to bring a black screen (black card) to block the lens when there is no fireworks, so that you won't get overexposed pic....may be can try leh.:)

Black card is used with Bulb mode, something that the S2/S3 lack. Set to bulb, put the card infront of the lens. Open shutter, it will remain open until you tell it to close. Watch the rocket go up, move the card away when it bursts, move it back when it is done. Then close the shutter. It gives you more control over the exposure of the fireworks. Much better then trying to guess when it will explode.

you need to walk down a lot more to get the direct perspective. mine was slanted cos i'm directly infront of Merlion Park and the fireworks was shot at my North-West direction.

I posted some pics before in this tread, take a took. ;)

You will still get some salt spray up there. Not as much as me though. The wind will blow up small quantitites of water up into the air. You do not have to worry too much about it if you have a UV filter over your lens.

fireworks start shoooting at 9pm and i thought u left at 8pm??

When you look at your lens, are there little particles on it? If you have a dust blower, try blowing them off. Else, you will need to clean the lens. Can you get your hands on lens cleaning solution? Do not use detergent or glass cleaning solutions, they will ruin the coatings on your lens.

I haven't check my lense, in school now.. :(
I got some lense cleaning solution and a dust blower at home which i got it free when i got my camera, but haven't use it b4 leh. :bsmilie:

Is that how you clean ur UV filter too?
Since u have a UV filter attached, do u still need to clean ur lense?

I clean my UV filter with pure 100% ethanol. You cannot buy it commercially. Lens is protected by my adapter and UV filter, so do not really have to worry about it that much.

It would great if fireworks are high enuff to be captured on top of the spaceship or do a close up on the supreme court with fireworks as the background. :bsmilie:
