Taken with my DCR -1540. 600mm...... so nice :bsmilie:

heh~ tts a great moon! Its a must to get a tele for this shooting? Hmz... i always thought 12x is quite impressive liao.

btw, a question to ask. I realised S3is white balance seems to be in auto mode. Is it possible for us to control the white balance instead of allowing the camera to do the balancing?

btw, wats exposure and color control means?

Yeah, I used the Raynox DCR-1540 1.54X Tele converter. Gives me 665mm on my S2IS.

Do you shoot in P mode or Auto mode? You cannot set white balance in Auto. Switch to P mode, it gives you much more control.

For exposure, you can read this article from dpreview. What do you mean by colour control?

Hey, were you guys at the Esplanade Waterfornt? What time were you there and roughly what time the front roll got taken up har?

The fireworks seems pretty low this year....last year I was viewing from a hotel and it was up the sky, this year, above the water.....wonder if it's only for team Italiano....Nice shot, all taken with 2 sec? Did you try 4-5 sec exposure?

Thanks for sharing!:)

My friend booked a place for us at 6.45, right in the middle of the bridge. I got there at 8pm, it was all full. Good thing my friend got there early. Watch out for salt spray, my UV filter was a mess when I looked at it on Sun morning. 2-2.5 sec is enough, shoot at f4.0 and higher. I spent more time looking at fireworks then shooting.

I was at BSB with Static, I'm chopping the place alone since 4pm, but the crowd only came in at 6pm. Hahahaha!

I agree about the low fireworks, abit sian man, hopefully tml's show would be high.

I did my expsure from F/4.5 - F/8 and 1 sec to 8 sec, I realized that the correct exposure is hard to get cos i even over exposed some of my pictures at F/8 1.5 sec.

So far my best picture is produced at F/4.5 and 2 sec exposure. ;)

Hey, I read from one of the thread here is that you need to bring a black screen (black card) to block the lens when there is no fireworks, so that you won't get overexposed pic....may be can try leh.:)

the black card must be rough mah (in order to absorp the light instead of refelcting it)? I was thinking about bringing one when sitting on the toilet bowl this morning. :bsmilie:

one question, why bring a black card instead of covering it with the lense cap?? :dunno:

the is a flight of stairs at the consturction site opposite of Millenia Walk, it's far away from Esplanade.

The highway got pedestrian walkway mah, we just crowd there lor. The police only interfere with the cars on the trafic. :bsmilie:

Its the spray from the river. Even light winds will cause some of the water to come up, it evaporates & leaves all the salt behind.
