At 5fps, it is more discernable due to the short break in between. However, when compared side by side, at the same rate of 5fps or lower, the 1dmk2 is about the same if not louder. The 10d, now that is silent
The 20D mirror slap is LOUD. Recently shot with two friends, one using a 20D and one a 1DMkII, both going at full drive, you could hear the 20D higher pitch and louder slap over the 1DII which was slightly quieter even at higher fps. Maybe the bigger/more solid build and better damping system of the 1DMkII body helped.szekiat said:you can hardly compare something at 8fps against that of something at 5fps. djork said:yeah. i really like the shutter noise of the 10D. it felt really smooth. was kinda disappointed when i heard the 20D's shutter noise.

I dun suppose it's limitation, right, in that case?
