Road Trip - USA

Your time at Yosemite were much better than mine about 13 days before you flew out of Singapore. Mine were much more muggier than yours. Glad that you had a nice blue sky and good thing that the sunset at Glacier point was so dramatic especially when it was shining sideways onto half dome.

I like your panos. So much better than mine.

I was wondering whether did you ever find out about Swan Oyster Depot in San Francisco? I went there twice and they really do serve most probably the best oysters that I have ever eaten.

I also hope that the secret service didn't stop you too badly if you took out your 70-200 at the White House. The last time I was there, I had a 1.4x TC on a 100-400 and could zoom in all the way into the 2nd floor with a huge landcruiser with a lot of radios on the vehicle about 200m behind me.

Your shots are fantastic.

Thanks for sharing them in CS.

Splutter, sorry for a bit of OT.

Damn, someone else here in Singapore knows about Swan Oyster Depot. I used to live around the corner, a love the place. If they don't have the best in the world, they sure have the best oyster in San Francisco!

Thank you agape01.
Yosemite was also muddy looking when I went, but I always try to push for timings with better lighting when I was shooting, so that helped a little I guess. I'm not really an oyster person, so I didn't get to find out about the wondeful oysters you were talking about. Maybe I should have given it a try. Surprisingly, there wasn't really anyone to bother me while I took shots of the white house.

Thanks.

Loved the memories it brought back!

:D

Love your thread.

The Best In CS so far for me.

Splutter,

this series of photos of your month-long road trip to US is worthy of a mini-exhibition at Wheelock Place or Arts House! My husband and I love travelling too but we never had the luxury of 1 month's leave...so good on you. Keep travelling and documenting special moments like these to share. I particularly like the shadow shot of you and your tourmates on the beach...and of course your black-and-whites.

;) Cheers from a fellow travel-bug

Great travel blog! Brought back so many memories for me... This IS the best thread I have viewed so far in ClubSNAP. No doubt!

I'm actually planning for a 2 week trip with my wife this Dec, and your photos have given me lots of ideas... I just hope the weather is forgiving in winter...

yo Splutter, I thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed your series. Thanks for sharing!!
