Thanks Jeff. Itch no more, take time out and go travel!

Thanks again Janiel. I think ur lens helped me bring back more souvenirs for myself :)

19th July
Took a early ferry out to Liberty Island. Too bad we still did not manage to get into the statue. I suspect they get snapped up by tour groups.

America's favourite lady.

You can see people in the crown here. According to printed material, the statue was copper in colour for a good 10 years before it oxidised to this greenish tone. I wonder if anyone has pics of it in copper colour.

Back at times square. Went to a jazzy restaurant to enjoy some good food. Later it began to rain! My wish actually came true, haha. I think New York is incredibly sexy in the rain and so I was the only one crazy enough to go shooting in the rain.

Old couple brisk walking in the rain. I think they were outside a theatre.
115.jpg

When the rain lightened to a drizzle, more folks came out on the streets again.
116.jpg

Notice how much more colourful it becomes after the rain.
117.jpg

I got seriously wet doing all these shots. Guess where all the water flew when the cars zoom past me through the puddles.
118.jpg

I decided it'll be more dramatic if I stood on the road divider. Obviously it was a lot more dangerous, but heck :bsmilie: In fact, a car actually had an accident just right beside me, good thing it wasn't too serious.

Another attempt.

Trying to be really arty farty here.

It's coming to an end soon, only abt 17 more shots to post :)

Very nice pics of USA splutter. The colours are very vibrant :D

beautiful shots. i like the one of the old couple in the rain outside the theatre. captured the moment perfectly. got loads to learn about travel photog from you

The cities are much different from the rurals. They show significant contrast in colours and shapes.

Thanks bro. I'll dying for one holiday already.

:)

Thanks for the kind comments ZeroDivine, Shibin, engta, hanamasa, Isaiahfortythirtyone and Qazwer.

Isaiahfortythirtyone I'm have got much more to learn too :) . I seldom get candids right. Guess I was lucky this time round.

20th July
Decided to spend some time at Central Park since it's so famous.

While in the subway, I saw this scene. Many folks make a living out of busking in subways and they are pretty good at it!
122.jpg

Central Park itself with lots of people sun tanning.

Taken on a street outside Central Park.

Somehow wandered to Madison Square Garden.

Buildings near Madison Square Garden.

Went to visit the flat ironside building. Pretty interesting architecture.

More buildings.

Your pixs are amazing. Reading and looking at your travelogue has truly make my day. Lovely. Thanks for sharing your trip :)

Very nice travel log and pics. Reminds me how beautiful California, especially the outback is. Too bad about the mishap with your car. Driving on gravel is very tricky. Did something similar like that years ago, luckily, was able to drive back to Furnace Creek before the car finally rest in peace.

The one picture I like best, however, is the one you talked about how difficult it is to park in San Francisco. Still my favourite city in the world.

Great series!

Thank you ir_swaps and Deadpoet :)
I'm glad my pics brought back fond memories.

Later on in the evening, we decided to go to one of the tallest building in the world - Empire State Building.

The view from the top was simple gorgeous. We could see practically the entire Manhattan from there.

View from the top. A little foggy due to the altitude. Some of the low clouds actually just drift by us.
130.jpg

Thought it looks better in mono.
129.jpg

Another one.
131.jpg

We could actually see the Flat Ironside Building from there too!
132.jpg

A pano - Not very successful as I shot it handheld. They forbided tripods up there!
133.jpg

How can we possibly not shoot the night scene? Yup, we actually stayed up there for almost 3 hours.

21st July
Decided that I should attempt to shoot Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge from Brooklyn side. Woke up at about 4am and trudged there in hope of getting a sunrise shot as well.

Well the sunrise wasn't really great, but I did get a better angle of the 2 bridges.

Brooklyn Bridge.

Manhattan Bridge.

On Brooklyn Bridge itself.

It was the end of our trip in New York. Spent the rest of the day shopping for clothes and souvenirs.

22nd July
Flight back to LA.

We didn't really have much time left by the time we reached LA due to delayed and missed flights.

The only sunset shot I managed to grab in LA again. Taken in Pasadena.

23rd July
Flight back to Singapore transit Tokyo.

Well I have reached the last day of my USA Road Trip. I hope everyone has enjoyed viewing the photos as much as I have did. It feels great to be able to just drop everything and go off for a month. Next time round, I hope to be able to go even longer :bsmilie:

Last view of the skies as I flew back to Singapore.
