True but how many can unscrew? To totally unscrew oneself, you need to get out of the viscious cycle of your habbit, envt, circle of (bad) influence, etc, etc. Very few actually made it.

Thus, it is easier, IMO, not to screw up in the first place.

Yes, I agree with you. It's better not to mess up big time right from the start.
But hey, this world is in no uncertain manner, no less complicated than years ago. Messing up is much easier. And so often it happened even in apparently well-controlled and seemingly civilised home environments.
Sadly even the most well-meaning up-bringing may produce a shocker.
It's nothing but millions of sharp needles unrelentingly piercing the hearts of the parents.
I work in an environment where I am fortunate enough to witness unscrewing behaviours. And therefore my personal commitment is to keep my belief of the good natured-ness of human being.

It is unfortunate that this has happened. But it also brings to question - what are the organizers doing - arent there disclosures that contestants have to sign, arent there background checks etc. Maybe life is too comfortable in Singapore and people in charge are getting too complacent ...
