Ricoh GXR! - Season II

A FF GXR will give the Canons and Nikons a run for their money especially with a no-AA-filter sensor. With M mount lenses, it could produce IQ equivalent or even better than from the D800E !! It will probably even impact sales of the new Leica M10.

I could see this happen..but not so soon. My guess is that after Sony achieve the sales vol for nex6,7..they would launch FF Nex (may be Nex 9) and then they would start selling FF to other co.

Hope this will happen soon ... anyhow the strength of GXR is Sensor embedded with the lens to give the very best of optical and sensor combination... I started to understand how this goes ...
look at my recent shot of my baby girl ... with GXR A12 50mm

The GR lens is so amazingly sharp and my baby eyes reflection of me and my wife ...

Share some photos from one of my working project : The Street Scape

I do street photography as well as doing the "landscape of the street". I'm still exploring equipment that suit my requirement.

Below three photos were taken with GXR M-mount with VC 12mm and VC 35mm pc lenses. However I sold the module and all the lenses, because I don't like the flare and I don't want to spend on Leica or CZ M lenses. Currently trying out on A12 28mm and A16 24-85mm. :)

PS: These photos do not reflect the exact quality of the image. :)

Nice Paksiew. Very film like.

Sharing a few shots from recent trip to Korea

Lake in Gyeongbukgong Palace. With A12M + Voigtlander 12mm/5.6, 3 shots exposure fused in photomatix.

With A12M+ Carl Zeiss 50mm/2 Planar, 3 shots exposure fused in photomatix.

Nice 3D effect appearance ! How do you do that on the camera settings or is it during PP could adjust something? To get 3D pop out effect.?

What you mean by decode? You mean PP ?

I also shoot raw on the Kr, what raw format do you use on the Ricoh? There is 2 types raw format selection on the Kr but I can't recall what r they and which one I selected.

Pentax can choose PEF or DNG, GXR RAW files is DNG
DNG no need to convert to use with adobe software, can load directly

Yes, it's a great feature really.

Well ... Kind of "decode" cos it's RAW file ... I opened it up with Lightroom and tune abit from the RAW.
Does it consider Post Process ... ? I don't matter much to me ...
I just tune base on my mood...

If shooting raw but never process, whether with adobe camera raw or lightroom, its a waste of time :) thats like shooting film and not bothering to develop.

Might as well just shoot jpeg direct and let the camera make all the decisions for :)
