Ricoh GRD V (speculation cum wishlist)

Thanks for the video. Looks like they do away the secondary again. Anyway, I'm getting excited now!! Be your eyes!!

I hope i can do some review on it soon. Wondering when is the launch date...

I thought in May?

Even though I just bought the GRD IV but knowing that Ricoh can now improve and squeeze an APS-C sensor and still retain a pocketable dimension is very exciting. The inclusion of video is nice to have though I don't know how useful it will be. Well, at least that can shut the mouth of those who keep picking on GRD for its video function. My money is ready :D

Do we already know how pocketable it is? In the video it looks bigger than the Coolpix A.

No AA, APSC, 28mm, and it's Ricoh... while waiting for GXR-M FF to arrive if it ever does... my $ is ready!

Ricoh GRD IV: 108.6 x 59.8 x 32.5

Ricoh GRD V: 117 x 61 x 26.5 (lens extended 34.7)

Nikon Coolpix A: 111 x 64 x 40 mm

Looks like GRD V is longer than GRD IV while it grow by 2mm in height and thickness more or less the same. If GRD user said GRD IV is pocketable then I don't see why not for GRD V. :)

Yea, prepare to get the GH-3 and GW-3 as well.

Where did you see the GR dimensions? 26.5mm seems pretty thin.

It's slim :)

After looking at more images of the camera, there are two things I don't like - Effect button is on left side of camera (makes it impossible to apply effect with one hand, unless it can be reassigned) and Playback button below Magnify button (seems prone to accidental pressing). IMO, may be better to exchange the WB key for a third Fn and to squeeze one more button between the Timer and Disp buttons.

Now I just need it in a nice color and I hope the build quality is better than the GRDIV, the lens is pretty flimsy and noisy.

How about Sakura Pink? ;)

will reserve my comments until it's officially announce. impressive size though for aps-c if the video is real.

RAW write speed has been the achilles heel of the GRD series i feel. wonder how the GRD5 will perform in this aspect.
