The dpreview preview is out! It looks really good...

Even though I already have a Ricoh 28mm APS-C sensor sized camera in the form of the very capable GXR + 28mm module (with EVF, to boot), this new GRD with APS-C sensor is exactly what I was waiting for.......

My resistance is weak to this one and I think I will end up getting one :P

Yah, usually a bit lower than US price which should put it at 800+

How much was the initial price of GXR + A12 28mm? And how much is Nikon Coolpix A now?

I felt they missed the whole point of the camera by keep alluding to the fast AF, which is the fact that you don't need to focus on the streets with this camera..... I don't see any exploration or mention of the snap focus abilities of the GRD series....

It's also a testament to Ricoh's poor marketing that most reviewers don't mention the GXR system and the APS-C 28mm module as being the small camera predecessor it was...... Much of what the GR is, the GXR already was, only smaller and more pocketable :)

With this new sensor built-in to the much more compact body than the GXR, I'm having more reason to hope for a new GXR A16 AA filterless module with might be an option for a Pentax K AF adaptor! :)

PenCoh, why not,...!!! ;)

wonder if the customization service will be available in Singapore? Not only the grip but also the release button and top plate can be customized.

i wouldn't advise u to do so... I had bad exp with the agent when i sent my GRD IV to customise the grip.

What happened?

I like the wood grain one ... but the rubber grip is so practical and useful if you use a wrist strap. The Chrome one really looks like the MX.

Fully dressed up ...
