I got it from ms color.
Quote ex at 25. But no choice as I was leaving for Bangkok so got to get it.
The battery came with a 1 year warranty though. Surprised by that.
I think they offer that. But you need to keep the box. Hmm 25?! If at that price, I may just pay a bit more get the original. See how. Thanks, Vengels.

Actually I like the idea of charging the battery through USB power source. I got a power bank (12000mAh!) which can charge my iPhone4s four times with one charge. It works great w/ the GR too. If only GR used a more general microUSB port instead of customized one so we'd have one less cable to bring when out traveling.

FengWei, I like it too. I can charge the camera the same time I charge another battery on the external charger. Makes perfect sense to me. So it's good. I just wish Ricoh had it bundled in the first place, but I am not complaining now since my LX3 charger does the job.

As to third party batteries, someone at DPR confirmed that the following one works perfectly in GR:

If look around, GR is the only APSC camera with retractable lens and the only pocketable APSC!

Hey Bernard,
Very nice ! The contrast and sharpness is unmatched for night shot. And th dynamic range is not too bad considering you managed to capture the constellation Crux (also know as the Southern Cross) and Beta Centauri in the picture too.
