GR Club is not APD.. So don't think they can influence camera price all that.

Let's be a bit less negative. I think it's a great effort and we should give credit when due. :)

Sure, I just think a club run by a third party isn't as cool as one run by the maker itself but of course nobody is forced to become a member. However, since Ricoh doesn't even distribute their cameras in Singapore themselves a company club is out of question anyway. ;)

Wow! Thankful it is not the current " I Love GR" picture on GR Club Facebook page, won't be cool if it is that .

LOL. The "I Love GR" picture will be on the shirt :P This is the pic posted on the FB page. :bsmilie:

Just joined membership and looking forward to free gifts too!

Woke up at 5am, walk from Rialto Bridge to San Marco lo ... Don't say you, I also miss the place.

another way is to arrive at venice on a overnight train. Also nobody in St Marcs.

Think the shirts have not been mass printed yet?
Maybe the club admin might want to consider printing an alternative design for members to choose from?

Something simple in front, example:

GR
SINGAPORE

Instead of:

I:heart:
GR

Or maybe organise a T-shirt design contest? :)
Then can let put the various designs submitted on the facebook page for members to vote :)

Good suggestions !

I think the colour black t shirt is great, cool ! plus the material is high tech material !
The back GR camera outline is cool, it says to me " GR capability of even shooting from the back "

The front " I:heart:GR" , a little feminine touch to it I felt, we all know how much we love our GR, but expressing it this way is .....mmmhhhhh
GRs

Probably should replace it w/ something like GR Club, straight and simple?

As the GR Club welcomes all owners with GRs various years models GRII, III, IV n GR and GXRs, if the logo could reflect that would be better.
But what should it look like ?

G(X)R

Then how about the back design? I am actually fine with both front and back.

Do they still have a chance to change the design? Or this is it?

Too late. Better just start to love it (as you do w/ the GR camera ;)). It looks pretty cool anyway.

Think most likely finalized liao lah.

I love GR ok mah, since that implies all the way from GR1 to GRD and latest GR. Sorry about the GX series though :p

I definitely love mine and the front logo says it all ;)

been away for 1 week due to the Crossing Bridges 10 event. read many of discussion on GR club, let me give more insight here.

1) Why GR club is not owned by APD, who is the existing distributor of Ricoh camera in Singapore ?
Reason I - Continuity. We have seen many camera clubs directly owned by the company itself, and died off once the management no longer support the club and its activities. In addition, for what ever reason if APD is no longer the distributor of Ricoh camera in Singapore, the club will be in nowhere. To avoid these, the committee member had decided to form GR club as a standalone basic, and registered the club as a Society. We have our own committee member. If any of the committee member no longer have time/passion to run the club, he/she could resign and we would draw new blood from the member. Setting a club is easy, to ensure the continuity is the key. We do not want to get members to sign up the membership and there are no activities/events/promotion after the initial period.

Reason II - Individualistic/Independent
GR/GXR is an individualistic camera. The cameras are designed for the photographer. The concept should apply to the GR Club where the club is run by the members itself. The committee member would drive the club, with the interest of members. A club truly belonged to the member. Is not that this is the similar setup of ClubSNAP (without the direct ownership of any camera club) who had grown to close to 200,000 members ? Nonetheless, that does not mean the club does not have support from Ricoh or APD. Indeed, APD is kind to help us to setup this club, they have given us a lot resources. I believe we will continue to have their back up and support on GR club.

2) T Shirt Design
We all know there is no perfect design that everyones like. Rather than take in everyone's opinion and drag on, the committee had decided to use the logo I  GR.

Why GR ? GR does not only represent the GR camera. GR features more likevthe branding of Ricoh camera. We hope and welcome to have all Ricoh camera user to join the club. Be it GXR, GX, GRD user.

Why I  GR ? Clear message. The design of " I  XX " has been sold widely, and you could see many people wearing the T shirt. Personally I do not see it is feminine. Moreover, we see this as a common design for GR club in other country.

The T shirt is a high quality material. I am sure you would like it.

3) Join us and Sign up here
Ricoh user should take this opportunity to be part of us. Come for our outing/meetings, to find out more what the club could do for you, and let us hear from you what you like it to be.

Sanfong, what are the items that is so disappointed ? Even if you compare GR Club with others club (by different brand) in Singapore as benchmark, some are charging more on membership fees whilst offer almost no free sign up gift.

GR Club is a standalone club, 100% owned by the members. It is not like you buy camera from country ABC, you have more free gifts. Read about the club concept of my above thread. Together if we can form a strong Ricoh user community, we could provide more to our members.
