Ricoh GR Digital users fall in!

hi to all GRD users.

have u guys tried the new firmware yet?

i noticeable difference is in the way the auto focus responds

when in good light, it still focuses very fast.

but when in dim light, it takes some time to focus and u can hear the auto focus motor rattling and sound different from usual. takes abt a second for AF lock. are u GRD users experiecing this? but i realised it's also more accurate than before.

Are u using the snap focus mode?

Are u using the snap focus mode?

nope

just using normal multi af mode. i realised it's the same thing for spot af mode.

snap focus mode is still normal for my case

I did a comparison right before and after the firmware update. ye, same light same pic/scene...

Observe:
1) marco focus, much faster after update.
2) AF faster and more accurate after update (normal light, which the AF lamp not activated)
3) AF where AF lamp is needed, still slow...

any grd users interested to sell their external vf?

I've been trying to find some rechargable AAAs for my GRD. The best I can find is 800mAH. Anyone using higher ones? Which brand? Thanks.

No one uses rechargables? Please reponse if you do thanks!!!

Is there any sign for GRD2?

Should I wait? :embrass:

oh yeah???

any link?
Current GRD the price still sky high.....
Would've been :bheart: if the GRD2 come out weeks after i bought GRD.

well, look at it this way. newer doesn't mean its better.

anyway, if u wanna compare the o/p of newer cams.. den perhaps u should be comparing ricoh to canon or nikon which has bigger r&d budget n larger product line. the grd is not for everyone n not everyone will appreciate the cam. so what it probably means is... with lesser consumers, lower budget, i don't see the grd being replaced so soon. not for the next 3 yrs i would say. but of course, don't take every word i say for real. jus my opinion :P

in the meantime, get the cam, get used to it and produce the kind of pics its capable of ;)
