I'm not sure how to answer all those questions, but let's start with something - food.

Learn to identify good-looking food and go next to a window, or near the side of a hawker center where light is entering. Go close to avoid clutter. However, each layout is different and as appropriate, not all advise about food shots will be the same.

The LX3 is already a great camera, or so I've been told, but the LX5 is even better!

From marketing point of view, of cause LX5 is better than old model LX3, otherwise how can it be sold widely?
From consumer point of view, price is always factored in to see if the improvements are worth the money.
Only time can tell :)

Kent, please tell us something not so obvious. We would love to find out more. ;)

I'm sure many members are more than well aware of the points you've already brought up ... so that's pretty much stating the obvious.

Thank you Kent. :)

the photos are stunning, but it would be good if you guys can state what settings the photos are taken at. :)

Hey, I just personally feel that it is overpriced. Same for many Pana products. Others may think differently.
But if money is not an issue, LX5 is definitely one of the best and good-looking high-end point & shoot cameras.

Heard that Canon S95 and G12 have been announced. Any comparison?

About 8 seconds up to about 1/3200, between f/2 - f/8 and ISO 80 - 12800.

Cheers! :)

How was the battery life?

400 pictures (CIPA Standard).

Generally, one charge (for ME) ranges from a lot of shooting for about half a day (3-4 hours) with say 15-30 flash shots to slightly more than 9-12 hours with sporadic shooting and minimal fooling around the LCD screen ... which actually tells you nothing. :bsmilie:

Well, almost Every Thing IS over priced in Singapore, as compared to our counter-part SEA countries.

Please do tell us something that's really not obvious to most members, Kent. :)

Not really. Many things selling in Malaysia are more overpriced than in Singapore.
Will share if I find out something not 'obvious' okie? Let's enjoy photography at the moment. ;)

I agree. Camera in Singapore is consider reasonably priced, with the exception of Hong Kong, go check out the price in Thailand, China and over here in Maldives and you will learn to appreciate the prices in Singapore.
