Chope ahh!

Tests should be self-explanatory.

Hi bro,

Just shoot auto flash with auto iso, not slow synchro. I'd like to know what iso the cam will automatically boost up to and guess its IQ. For casual shooting, its just not practical to set iso.

Here's a test. iISO was the higher speed, and the lower one was on 'AUTO'.

The best is just set it to 'iISO' which is 'Intelligent ISO' for walk-abouts. It will take care of itself for the most part! :)

Hey Chris

I read in a few other reviews, the feel of the LX5 is a bit "plastickly". What is your observation and experience?

Actually the opposite, it feels quite "metally"... no "plasticky" feeling whatsoever... it has a nice really solid and sturdy build... and dials are even better than on the LX3. No creaks regarding the build in any way whatsoever.

Can you point out the URLs of these reviews where you read this? It says a lot about the experience of the reviewer in handling compact cameras of different builds.

I suspect the LX3 might have been more "plastickly", but I can't tell at the moment ... unless another LX5 and LX3 arrives at my doorstep for testing.

The LX5 is something I could handle all day long.

However, the lens barrel itself it a little 'loose'. I suspect this may be due to tolerances, or it may be a design feature to prevent sticking in very cold countries. I'm not sure about this.

while oly FL36 flashgun (good and cheap alternative to pana's flash) works flawlessly with LX3, I think we had some problem with the LX5, cant remember what was it. DM / Peterpan1975 can u guys recall what was the problem?

IIRC, it was over-blown and/or the TTL didn't wok properly.

Managed to get some 'SCENE' Modes as well as 'artistic' modes done. I may or may not include some some iA HAPPY modes here, but generally, I only switch on the iA HAPPY mode deliberately to test, since the saturation levels and DR of the LX5 is so nice.

However, first are more 'Straight Shots' taken over several days to show the capability of the LX5.

CHEERS!

Again, the higher Dymanic Range.

Look carefully at the sky, the pavement and the shadow details of the fan.

Dunno leh. Se if Sam Lim Square got 'SPECIAL' or not! :sweatsm: :sweatsm: :bsmilie:

I've got another load of the same scene shot on different Modes, but as I do not have the camera anymore, I can't trace which are which for now. Will consult Panasonic, so hang in there is you like 'special or artistic filters' and such!

CHEERS! :)
