Not too close as the flash might be too harsh

Nice shots of the ants! Glad to help out =)

good job binxuan!!

u shud try setting ur zoom lenses to 300mm if u have, and reverse ur 50mm...the output is *speechless*

u know what i mean hahaha

The eye shots are
Quite amazing but the looks a bit scary to me :bsmilie:

Alright, I'll revive this thread. Dad just found a silverfish and I shot a few photos of it. DOF's really thin and difficult to follow a small insect around.

Lots of sharpening.

Hi all

Amazing extreme macro work here

So i reckon 85mm + 50mm reverse macro is better than adding Raynox 250?
Free somemore,heehe.

Can anyone comment?

Thank you!

Hey. 85mm + 50mm reverse macro means you have to go super close, about 5cm to the subject. That, plus the DOF would be crazy wide open, so stop down to f/22. So if you stop down, you'll need to shoot in manual and add flash. I haven't tried the raynox 250.

Reverse macro is fun, however I suggest you get a cheap manual 50mmf1.4/1.7/1.8 lens of any brand plus a male to male reverse coupling adapter. It is better than putting your AF lens scully kena scratch:sweat:

Here are my set of reverse macro shots - Set1 and Set2.

Cheers and have fun :)

Get a filter for both his 85mm and 50mm lor. Problem solved xD scratch also only scratch the filter.

How much is a 58 to 52mm adapter?

Anywais, Tagotech is selling for $10 :) I wanna buy one too but it's kinda silly to pay $10 delivery charges for a $10 ring :embrass:

Front element is ok but the exposed back element....cannot put filter
Anyway, just be careful as the distance to the subject is very near ;)
