14mm pancake! Now we are one step closer to the 10mm (and I know it is going to be a M Zuiko!) .... happy!

the immediate response i had when i watched the flash pop up was 'OUCH!' Looks as if the popping up impact can kill the flash itself over time.

But I have to say that I observed two things from the video...

(1) Panasonic FINALLY realised that sound comes from the direction where the LENS are pointing... :bsmilie: Was a joke on the GH1.
(2) The pop up flash, though mounted on a spring, (might or might not be a problem, but if the flash is warm/hot after a few pictures and kept getting popped, might just die out) is positioned in a very nice place. The light will be decent. Though at GN6 (read somewhere), seems a little too weak... but some said, "better than nothing".
(3) Site shows new lenses, so Panasonic is definitely serious about the micro Four Thirds platform... so that is a good thing for the standard.

One man's meat is another man's poison... so every man for himself. I don't think I will ever get a Panasonic until the Venus engine gets a real overhaul. But if I ever look at a consumer "video first" DSMC, then the GH1 will be my number one choice. Hands down winner in that category. But as a still camera first, no. :thumbsd: Venus engine, to me, is so far away from the Truepic5 engine. But that is my preference. Feel free to disagree. We all have different eyes and preference. Its subjective.

But Panasonic is KEY in leading the video capabilities/technology of the micro Four Thirds format. All the other players are lagging behind in a big way. Still love how the GH1 with 14-140 lens perform for video... super!

Still waiting. I'm not going to get that 10/2.8 soon, am I?

Don't think so... not this year at least.
But the Panasonic 100-300 lens look very interesting though...

600mm 35mm equivalant is such a small package, looks promising.

this GF1 look promising to me... Personally I like GF1 look then EP1.... oppz... personal preference...

EP-1 style and in body IS + GH1 evf + GF1 built in flash.

when will it come?

i really like the m4/3 lens collection already. 20mm f1.7 + 14-45mm + 100-300mm looks like a good travel kit.

I concur with you, although I don't care about the flash. I'd rather have an EVF built-in, and really be the "poor man's Leica M8" that some are starting to tag the E-P1 with. Maybe E-P2 ?

Is there any product that can be stuck on the screen to make it more viewable in bright sunlight ?

Hmmm ... thanks, you gave me an idea there ... I will go try using some of my Lee film-type filters on the screen .

:) I am also thinking something like those Tom Cruise in Top Gun Raybans... I think they only have straight PL for sunglasses.

What's a CPL? Is it like the Hoodman Hoodloupe? Like in this video:

it will be available in Japan from 18 Sep, saw this on BIC camera. don't think we will get it in SG till at least Oct.

Guess that the price will not be so cheap after all.

The gun metal silver is beautiful in styling... at least Panasonic finally got the styling right... AVCHD Lite means HD720, no HD1080 because Panasonic cannot get rid of the jerkiness on HD1080 therefore they rather rebrand it as AVCHD Lite. Which is smart.
