Release of Nikon D60

I think it's not much different from D40X. They will probably discontinue the D40X when the D60 is released.

Finally got to see and feel Nikon D60...

Overall the feeling.. Doesn't feel good after holding it...
The build quality feel very plastic.
I felt D40X the feeling of holding it still better...

Sorry, I'm still very new in DSLR.
This is just my own points of views...

So I took a few shot using my mobile phone...

Yodobashi Camera Selling at

(Kit 1 18-55mm VR) Made in Thailand or China can't remember liao.. sorry...:embrass:

YEN119,800 = Est SIN$1356
(Kit 2 with both lens 18-55mm VR and 55-200mm VR Made in China.. I think)

D300 will be around for some time. In the latest product lineup, even D200 is not discontinued but D40X is already left out. ;p

that should be the way. no point having two models that are too similar. offer a cheaper D40 versus a D60 with more added features

Newbie here by the way, haven't gotten my DSLR yet...

the D40x stock are those bought in b4 the D40x is discontinued officially. therefore they will still be in the mkt for some time b4 they are really gone.

me is also a newbie, looking at the possibilities of getting a DSLR (new or 2nd hand).

logically to think that d40x is around 980 with kit lens then d60 price should be without lens?

I think should be with kit lens. I was asking for the price of D40x but they suggest me to get a D60 which is 980. At cathay photo their D60 is ard 1000+(forget the actually price) but D40x price drop to around 935. so my guess is with kit lens is 980.

You sure the difference between new model and VR lens is just $100? If that's so, shouldn't your choice be OBVIOUS?

Woah, just few days ago I asked J 3:16 and they quoted me 970 for D40x and D60 wasn't out yet... Lucky I didn't buy yet... Now price drop already
