The Tribal Council has spoken ?? ESPN ? Survivor ??? =. = !!!

I sense much disturbance here...

erm..... back to topic.. reasons to choose D70 over 350D,

1) Solid feel
2) Big enough, roomy for fingers to grab
3) its a Nikon
4) 350D is a Canon
5) this is a Nikon Thread
6) I am a Nikonian
7) Nikon is the way to go
8) Nikon maybe black, but its the best there is.
9) Superior Optics by Nikkor

enuff ? i cant think if the 10th reason.. hehehe
I only agree with you on points 1 & 2, but the rest..... It is always this type of meaningless comments that starts flame wars...u know the rest of the story... :thumbsd:

then do you think you are silly enough to ask someone why he needs a DSLR?

U sound so darm pro but still not a single post of your photo. We all still waiting for your masterpiece or your work so that we can learn from you.

Only silly call other silly as only silly do silly things like calling others silly

ESPN valid question : Why need DSLR ?

Possible answer - use use film camera too

You stupid Question : Why DLSR use for ?

Stuipd answer for you : Use for sweeping the floor

See ? Who is silly ?

What will you be shooting anyway?

back to the topic,

with the canon 350D you get to see the ISO values on third party software like PHOTOSHOP. But with D70... you don't :( you need software like nikon view or nikon capture to see your ISO...

I prefer PS over nikon capture so the lack of ISO values in the exif is quite anoying.

err ... that's a wierd reason ... you can see the EXIF data of digital photographs just by right clicking on the image in your browser and go to properties > summary > advance, don't need any software other than your OS :dunno: oh well

eehh.. i also D70 user, what is NUG??

mmm... I am using panther as my OS and I can't seem to do what you say :(

So much for the OS. anyway, must you do ALL those steps for every photo? When you work and edit your photos in one software, you do wish to be able to see the exif data in that software itself. Switching windows just to see exif data is kind of clumsy. I just don't understand why nikon can't follow everyone else. I mean photoshop is the standard to follow right? it is not like asking nikon to follow canon's way of doing things.

anyway, I found that the PS raw plugin 2.4 can read the ISO setting for NEF files. PS just can't read D70 jpegs ISO settings.

very simply... one should get a camera after trying out both for herself for usability at the shop. rest of the technicalities, we can argue forever.

one thing over the 350d and D70/D70s

the shutter sound.. go listen..... i mentioned in a thread before....

the 350D sounds better... this time !! lol...

Uhmmm, 350D, new speakers?..

Why chooice Nikon instead of Canon hurr... one good example will be Nikon provide new Firmware for D70 not only to improve the performance, but also give you a new look of the menu like D70s.

2. There are many events for Nikon family like you and me, for instance like few months ago the Chinese Garden model shoot, and recent one BigWalk that Canon never did for their users. Maybe Canon think that they cannot take care so "many" Canon users.

But Canon provided the vertical grip option to even their most basic DSLR (300D) compared to Nikon D70... :dunno:

Take care ? There is no need to as we can well managed ourselves. Look at all the major sporting events and news coverage, you will see a lot of Canon around. Security risk huh, especially when there are scores of white or red-ringed lenses around.

The lenses was the deciding factor for me. No regerts till now.

The body can only does so much.

Come to the white side.

This debate seems to go on forever, I would say buy both and sell off one at the end of the day. At most you lost ~20% of the buying price but u got to decide the best of the 2. Just a word of advise, u might keep both and end up spending twice the $$ for getting a dslr. It's a SIN ...
