I have a NIKON AFS MICRO 85mm DX. Min distance is 28cm 1:1

I find shooting insects is still NOT close enough. I am using pop-up flash

Can recommend which is the correct product for my use

1. RAYNOX 150 or RAYNOX 250
2. the min distance when RAYNOX is attached (approoximate how many cm)

You can consider DCR-250 or CM-2000A as below:

DCR-150, as inside the CM-2000A package, is a good start with your 85mm lens as the focusing distance is around 20cm, though the magnification is only about 60% of the DCR-250.

When you need higher magnification, you may use DCR-250 (with a focusing distance of around 12cm) or stack both lenses together.

I did a test shot from NIKON 85mm MICRO DX

Yes, DM101, you should get something like that.

However please note the focusing distance will be reduced to 11cm or possibly to around 6cm, when you stack both the DCR-150 and DCR-250.

Hi Blue Sky,

For Nex-3, DCR-250 or CM-2000A will be more than enough for normal macro usage.

For MSN-202, as the magnification is twice that of DCR-150 + DCR-250 combined, the depth of field will be shallower and hence much more difficult to use, especially if it is handheld.

DA 18-55mm; DA 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3, FA 35mm f/2, DA 40mm f/2.8, FA 50mm f/1.4, FA 50mm f/1.7, FA 77mm f/1.8 (5 preceding lenses require a step-up ring), DA* 50-135mm, DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6, DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8, SMC 135mm f/2.5;

There is slight vignetting for your lens at 250mm. Please see below for details.

Sony:
18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 SAM (no vignetting after 24mm), 16-80mm 1:3.5-4.5 (slight vignetting at 80mm), 18-70mm 1:3.5-5.6 (no vignetting after 28mm), 18-250mm 1:3.5-6.3 (slight vignetting at 250mm), 55-200mm SAM, E-mount 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 (requires a step-up ring, no vignetting after 40mm);

Hi Bro,

Your 3 lenses can be used with Raynox macro lenses DCR-250 and CM-2000A, except a stepdown ring is required for #2.
