The DCR-7900ZD is a premium quality lens. The US price is around US$250 internet price without shipping. I was surprised initially at the high price as compared to other Raynox lenses when Raynox Japan quoted me the price. But when I saw and touched it, it's actually worth it.

This one is in a class of its own. A better comparison would be with Wide Angle lenses from Canon, Nikon and the like. In this way, it's very attractively priced as it's much more versatile than conventional DSLR lenses.

This product is priced as such on our website. If you desire almost perfect wide angle views, then this is a good consideration. Or you can get any other lens at less than S$200 but the quality tells.

Hi DT_,

CM-3500 can be used as long as your lens is between 100mm - 300mm. So I would say it's compatible with your Sigma. Just need to get a Raynox stepdown ring (72-62mm) which mounts to the CM-3500 adapter. This ring is only $20nett.

You can also consider the DCR-5320PRO macro lens set which has 72mm threads, which can be mounted directly with no need of any adapter. We have 1 customer with your lens who's very happy with this combo.

Many thanks for your interest!

Please use this formula to check the magnification ratio:
Magnification factor on 35mm format for your 50mm Macro =50/(1000/8)=0.4x
DCR-250 has +8 diopter.

So it's less than 1:1 in this case but the image is still quite enlarged since the main lens is a macro lens.

As for minimum focusing distance, I don't own the 50mm Nikkor so I don't know. This is lens dependent, not dependent on the add-on lens DCR-250.
