HI I am using the Nikon 105 2.8 Macro VR lense. I would like to improve the magnification with Raynox product could you suggest to me what I should purcahse for this improvement. Thanks

Hi mazdadan,

I suggest you can try the DCR-5320PRO (72mm thread) or the CM-3500 or even the highly popular DCR-250, but there may be some vignetting with the 2nd and 3rd models as the Nikkor lens is 62mm thread.

It also depends on how high the magnification you'd like to achieve and the application. Cos shooting insects and flowers at close distance can be quite different!!!

Wow i'm amazed by the quality of the captures~~

I've very interested in getting one of these lenses..

I'm using a Nikon 18-200mm VR - so the thread size is 72mm..

It's recommended to get the DCR5320Pro, since it is exactly 72mm thread, and it gives 5X according to the site.

But the CM3500 gives 24X magification

Not very sure about the DCR 250..isit 8X?

Just by looking at this figures, I would like to get the CM3500 since it provides the largest magnification..but may i know how bad is the vignetting going to be if i use it on my 18-200mm (72mm thread) lens?

Also, if I were to get the CM3500 / DCR 250, is it that I will have to purchase another converter ring separately and how much will it cost?

DCR-250 is +8diopter lens and comes with 1 universal adapter (internal thread 43mm) which fits filter sizes from 52mm to 67mm, while CM-3500 comes with 3 super macro lenses +6, +12 and +24diopters and 2 univesal adapters of 52mm to 67mm (internal thread 37mm).

We are also going to introduce another macro package to the market very soon - the CM-2000, which is a combination of DCR250 and DCR150 (+4.8 diopter) macro lenses with 1 adapter.

However from our experience, these lenses are normally suitable for lens diameter of 62mm or lesser. If more than 62mm, vignetting might be pretty obvious, such as for the Nikon 18-200VR lens, which should use the DCR5320PRO instead, which gives you +2, +3 and +5diopters.

As you can see, they are useful for different applications. Currently the CM-3500 offers the highest possible magnification for a DLSR you can find on the market.

Wow i'm amazed by the quality of the captures~~

I've very interested in getting one of these lenses..

I'm using a Nikon 18-200mm VR - so the thread size is 72mm..

It's recommended to get the DCR5320Pro, since it is exactly 72mm thread, and it gives 5X according to the site.

But the CM3500 gives 24X magification

Not very sure about the DCR 250..isit 8X?

Just by looking at this figures, I would like to get the CM3500 since it provides the largest magnification..but may i know how bad is the vignetting going to be if i use it on my 18-200mm (72mm thread) lens?

Also, if I were to get the CM3500 / DCR 250, is it that I will have to purchase another converter ring separately and how much will it cost?

The DCR250 is +8diopter but is not suitable for the Nikon 18-200mm VR as almost half of the view is blackened.

Yes, you would have to purchase a Raynox stepdown ring from 72mm to 67mm or 62mm if still insist to use DCR250/CM-3500 with the 18-200VR.

I suggest you get the DCR5320PRO which will give you outstanding macros too.
