Rain

Go make more 涼茶 lah, cool tea + cool weather = super cooling. :bsmilie:

Too much Ying (cooling) no good, and causes illness. Must balance with some yang (heat). Durians should do the trick.

Can you spot the Dragon rising above Singapore and disappearing into the Strait of Malacca on its final day as the Water Snake herald into a new era? What will this mean for us?

Wah bro.. you also know feng shui???

Nope, just a apophenia.

Perhaps it might be significant for others or something, I don't know.

Rush of the Water Snakes have began...

There may be a complex Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) developing over Sumatra with a possible cold front moving in towards Singapore.

Attempting to verify data with maritime Automatic Identification System (AIS) meteorological reports from vessels along the western Sumatra coastline but currently getting only corrupted binary data.

Seems like it dissipated in intensity, guess it hadn't had the chance to smother the peat fires. Got to wait for another day then.

Getting heavy returns from the cell, especially in the past hour or so. Got to

Argh, my posts got cut off.

Nucleation from artificial cloud seeding resulting in one hell of a core in the cell formation. A friend lecturing at NUH visually confirmed sightings of small diameter hails while driving along the AYE, didn't seems to last long though. Probably just several minutes.

No damage to my car. But tree branches everywhere ..

Had some free time to briefly look through preliminary meteorological data as shared. Maximum wind gust was approximately 80 km/hr to 90 km/hr within the core of the thunderstorm cell last afternoon as it passed from Northwestern Singapore through South-Western Singapore.

A cluster of thunderstorm cells are currently actively detected over Riau Province, with echo returns of 50 dBZ to 65 dBZ (coded red). This should really help with the extinguishing / suppressing some of the peat fires.

Updated hypothesised explanation with a more plausible theoretical approach regarding the hails by an amicable career professional who has also been extremely busy over the past several weeks as posted in another thread.

Met Service officer mentioned during our aviation meteorological briefing that there's perhaps a definite link between airborne aerosols and atmospheric particulate matter such as pm10 and pm2.5 increasing intensity of thunderstorm cells as the size of water droplets coalescing in clouds decreases due to aforementioned factors thus rising higher and higher up the stratosphere than usual in a maturing cumulus / cumulonimbus cloud formation before freezing into hails, releasing additional latent heat energy from enthalpy of fusion thus invigorating the cycle till the convective system dissipate its energy in intensity.

This was my general understanding.

BLOODY FREEZING JUST NOW.

i went out for a smoke and i almost froze to death outside
Outside Air Temperature (OAT) / Static Air Temperature (SAT) at Singapore Changi International Airport (WSSS), 6.45 metre Above Mean Sea Level (AMSL), dropped to as low as 23.0 °C at 26 June 2013-06-26 T 1230 +8 (Singapore Standard Time (SST)).

Extremely heavy downpour in Western Singapore.

Strong gusts reported. The maximum sustained wind speed as recorded by the anemometer is rather high too.

State of Drought now exist in Southeast Asia (SEA), record days without rainfall in many areas (since 13th January 2014 for the Republic of Singapore).

Water rationing begins in Peninsular Malaysia, agricultural commodity prices expected to rise.
