query about LTC's career

I don't usually make posting in CS as there is already some much to learn from this forum.

My opinion, its disrespectful to label people, who earn a decent living protecting YOU while you go round snapping your photographs, as no or bad future. You can earn whatever millions in your job, but please do not belittle others. It is also inappropriate to discuss something that is confidential in nature, i.e boyfriend and boyfriend's pay. Imagine if he reads it.

And for those currently in the service, please do not bite the hand that feeds you. I believe loyalty is a must in your job. Of course, everybody is entitled to his or her opinions, likes or dislikes, similarly, I have also formed opinions of certain people from reading those threads above. Each his or her own, respect others please.

Happiness in marriage does not surrounds by money only............

I do not require my wife to earn very high pay so that when i was out of job, she can help me to support my properties, many cars, branded clothes etc........

Marriage is 2 way traffic, and when one of the traffic falls off, the other will try to share the burden, while the fallen traffic will try to minimize its burden......

A good marriage requires communications, shared interests, forgive and forget........

Love........ cannot be explained and definitely cannot be measured by money. If can be measured by money, that is not Love anymore....

did not go through all the posts. just to say the following :
1. Superscale - the lowest superscale rank in the SAF is LTC 2, and not COL. Hence, a SLTC is a superscale officer.
2. Retirement Age - in 2010, this was raised to 50. For MDES scheme, the retirement age is 62.
3. ROA. For a SLTC at 36 to be promoted to be a COL, the chances are high if he/she does things right.
4. The tough part is to be promoted to a BG.
5. You don't convert from to be a DXO or DSTA scheme. The organisation must be willing to employ you.

Sigh ... so far the only thing I hear is what the man can bring to table and it seems like $$ plays a big part here ... makes me wonder what YOU can offer; certainly not just $$ ...

As rightfully pointed out by some ... I wonder how your LTC will feel if he reads this; to me things like this should be discussed in confidence, not in an open forum ... come on, respect your guy friend ...

No, lah.
Go for bankers.
"Mr. Fuld will do fine," Waxman said. "He can walk away from Lehman a wealthy man who earned over US$500 million. But taxpayers are left with a US$700 billion bill to rescue Wall Street and an economy in crisis."

Picked up some from the stock market after that. Actually I am patiently waiting for the next big crisis.....

*ok naive thinking of me*

anyways.

marriage isnt simply just money. i hope TS realises its more than that. does ur family accept him? does his accept u. do u 2 feel comfortable with each other?

i think this are stuff that are more impt:)

I would be sad if I am the LTC.

Just ask him about his annual. Monthly pay is not too accurate. When you know the answer, you can manage your expectation.

Move on or cling on. Your choice.

From your statement, I would assume you are in PB of some foreign bank. If yes, maybe you should know find someone from your same industry.

Remember, you choose people. People also choose you.

.......... there will be nothing new to add

thread closed.... good luck girl !
