Just went to Inforcom in the evening. They no longer has Eastgear batts but another brand that is using the Eastgear package, blue colour instead of green.

Just 2-3 weeks ago, I went there to buy a piece of Eastgear batt. Then I saw another Eastgear batt in a blue package. Batt is green, package is blue. Today saw everything is blue. The design, writings, batt rating are all the same as the Eastgear.

I think Eastgear has outsourced the batt manufacturing. Anyway, I bought another 2 today. Price is still the same for the 1700mAh. Left about 4 hanging there. :p

Thanks for the heads up. Was wondering if the battery has been restocked today! Time to go down funan again! ;)

Cos they earn like 1000% profit? Since they already decided that there were compatibles on the market and they might as well skin us for what it's worth...

I think Its still Eastgear source product but now named to be more generic. Probably for wider sales market.

I currently have 6 including 2 I bought last week.
6's NP400  , good enough for you to shoot more than 1 to 2 weeks without bringing charger.

Now I know who to look for when I need to rent batteries ;p

I shoot sports nowadays, 1 day I can expand 3-4 batts. I bought 2 extra is in case I forgot to recharge the expanded batts if I'm shooting for 2 full days.

How long does one battery last in 7D? Like how many shots?
For 5D sometime it range from 400-1000 shots, most ly without using flash. And I seldom finish one battery within a day.

But you got one charger only? Really charge like mad  .

A great tip about EG batts. If Inforcom runs out of stock, you can get EG to ship their batts across the road to Inforcom and buy them at Inforcom price :). A friend found that out when I got him to buy 2 more batts for me. No stock at Inforcom, so he headed over to EG and bought 2 at $34.95 ea (still cheap for me). He then proceeded to mention Inforcom's lack of stock and the EG salesperson told him what he could have done (no, he didn't ask for a refund ;p). However, the EG guy was greatly surprised at the Inforcom price---supposedly their wholesale rate to Inforcom is just a little less than 5%.

This is assuming EG has the stock, of course.

If anyone manages to do this, let us know ;).

The no. of shots are just a general guide on how much/long it will lasts on standard usage. My usage is different. Shooting sports is different from taking snapshots.

Is it ok to charge the battery even if its not yet drain off?

Yes it's ok.

An update, the EG 3rd party battery also now comes with a blue label. The wording on the label is identical to the green labelled one. I bought both and charged both. Haven't used them as yet but seems like no problems.

Just bought 2 batteries for KM 5 [ At Change Alley ]
SDV-NP-400 7.2V 1800mah
But original started7.4V, will it cause any problem? safe?
Thanks.
