i guess because of the wide angle the round hood will block your view at the left and right... so the hood have to give way thats y pental sharp hood design created...:think:

That is the current price of the 55-300 kit.There wasn't a promotion for the K-x,only price drop,which is the one you mentioned...

Went around a few shops also same, but SLRR still left k-x white body with kit 3.
