Well, US$653.17 is about S$928. Probably comes round to ~$1050 after tax and shipping. Still better to get the $1102 locally IMO

When I called MS Color last time, Florence offered to let me try it out at the show. Not sure if it's still ok there.

I bought mine at a shop that did not allow me to try it out. Some that did, I didn't buy from them. Just do not feel comfortable buying a camera or lens that has been tried out by God only knows how many people before me! A demo/display model is sound marketing practice. Unboxing a new camera just for trying out is not!
That said... trying out DSLRs aren't really a big problem. Walk into some big name store such as Harvey Norman, Best Denki, Courts, etc. I've never been refused to handle a camera at these places. They have display models specifically for customers to handle... or has this all changed recently? Not sure if these places stock Pentax though... that could be an issue.
Best idea is to join the fortnightly outings organized by Fengwei and Creampuff... you are sure to get poisoned after trying out many types of Pentax cameras to your hearts content!!

The Pentax group organises an outing every month (thanks to Fengwei) and that's the best time to join in and see the various models in the flesh. Plus you get to hear real life comments from real users too.

If you take into consideration the shipping and taxes, the price difference is not that much especially vs the current Lunar New year promotion price.
Don't think prices will drop any much further unless its to clear stocks for a new model.;p
I'd rather pay a little more for the local set and fuss free support.

Other than SLR Rev, U may try Manly at Chinatown.
As for dual kit colour, U can't get it in S'pore.
Not even sure if there's sure thing.
Only single lens kits come in various colour.
