Posting Guidelines for Kopitiam sub-forum
  • While the Kopitiam sub-forum is not actively moderated, members can be assured that moderators are watching like hawks waiting for prey. Posts/threads which violate ClubSNAP's basic tenets (Click HERE! - for those who didn't memorise upon registering) will be deleted without hesitation or explanation.
  • In addition to the basic tenets, although Kopitiam is meant as a catch-all area for things not related to photography, posts/threads which are:
    1. religious,
    2. political,
    3. racist;
in nature or can be construed as such will also be removed without prejudice.

I would also like to add :

Do not ask for warez.
Do not ask for CD-Key.
Do not ask where to buy pirated CD.
Do not ask where to download movie/mp3/e-book.

Trying out a name change for this sub-forum from Banal Talk (which IMHO is a bit vulgar ;p) to Kopitiam, basically to reflect the various diverse and non-photographic topics that crop up here.

Note to ppl not used to Singlish: Kopitiam is local lingo for coffeeshop.

With effect from 1st January 2004, we will disallow posting of Want to Sell and Want to Buy threads in Kopitiam.

Previously, we allowed WTS/WTB threads for non-photography related items but as the number of such posts has increased, we have no choice but to impose such a ruling.

There are plenty of other sites out there to sell/buy non-photography related items.

While we understand that Kopitiam stands for discussions which are not related to photography, we intend to keep Kopitiam open for such discussions only and not become another Buy & Sell subforum for non-photography items.

We will remove without notice such WTS/WTB ads as and when they are posted in Kopitiam.

We trust that members will view this as a good move, and that we intend to keep on growing ClubSNAP as the premier Photography Community.

Recently we noticed that there are some members who have the habbits of invading, derailing and occupying other people's threads for their own amusements. Please note that is a very rude behaviour, and is unacceptable in all sub-forums including KPT. In sub-forums other than KPT, we are not so rigid as to disallow any jokes in the threads, but please do refrain from excessive OT as a basic respect to the thread starter. In KPT, the rules are more relax, and we have no issue letting discussions go OT in a natural way. But please do not hijack other people's thread on purpose. Let us all works together towards a better community for all to enjoy.
