Hi, guys, good to see many good works, but do remember the purpose of the threads to have a showcase of good works + unique (not that often seen) compositions.

The above shot done by Jonathan Ernst is made by using wide angle lens which make near subject appear big and distant subject appear small, taken from a low vantage. there is excellent use of scale of sizes. it makes the helicopter looks almost like a toy remote

i call this composition the inverted mercedes-benz. it is not a difficult to find composition, but is often not used becos the correct elements are usually not easily found. u can either look for buildings that is angled inwards perpendicularly, and shoot upwards, but often the side of the buildings are characterless, and so is the sky. alternatively you can go on a higher building and shoot down on a lower building, but first of all the distance usually dun allow you to exclude the lateral side of the building unless you have really good tele, and the same boring surfaces of the buildings side and top are again there. the above i think are taken from the roofs that are ladden with the autumn leaves. we dun see this in sg, but if you find it overseas, dun forget to isolate this subject and bring back some interesting composition.
