Saw the white one, personally, it doesn't match as well as on the E-P1 which was a beauty.
I like the black one, no "plasticky" look, IMHO,YMMV ...
.
I almost wanted to plonk my $$$ on this 'champagne gold' set until I went personally to the shop and have a 'final-view' of the 3-colours............guess what:think:......I chosen the beauty of Black, in the end(Dual-kit plus MMF-2 :heart
cos I don't want to have such
...why got "stain-marks" effects... whenever these thoughts regarding "tarnish/fading" of the champagne and the white too, might turn yellowish on the exterior around the fingering-area after a certain period of usage...!!
I use my white EP1 quite a lot and I dun baby it because it is my nearly always with me camera. The white does not yellow or tarnish or get dirty as I had expected. Only bad thing is that there is no white lenses or which flash. I suppose at the end of the day, silver is probably the best colour to go for for the EP1. Have not really seen the EPL1 in the shops to make that judgement yet.
Tarnish or discoloration is fine, it's a natural thing. I would add a half-case, though, besides protecting, it's main use for me is to damp minute vibrations and enhance handholding grip. Wait for 3rd party ones, Olympus original E-PL1 half-case is amazing, in price.
.
hmm...:thumbsup:to hear that your white EP1 is still as white despite quite a lot use
Well, I'm still rather new when come to 4/3 as well as Micro4/3 system(body & lenses), but I can still remember (abt 5 days ago) there's this 'silver-colour-lens'=14-42ED for silver or white body, that the salesperson shown it to me as I suggested to him that I need to compare to finalised my choice of EPL-1's colour, where I made my purchased during the same day.
Btw, other than Panny 20mm f/1.7, is there any other 3rd-party make prime-fast lenses? Tia![]()

There is Nokton (Should be Nokton) which is pretty expensive, you can get adapter and use other lenses from Carl Zeiss ,Nikon, Canon, OM,Leica etc etc etc
Finally got myself the champagne gold one, though the guy at AP kept pyscho-ing me to buy black. I do admit black is beautiful (that's wht he said), but actually it doesn't make too much a difference to me, so I just prefer gold/silver.
Was in a rush, so didn't get filter/pouch/bag/LCD protector. All these necessary accesories for you all? As you can tell i'm pretty new. In fact i think AP purposely gave me a lousy SD card. When I saw he gave me Kingston, I wanted to ask for Sandisk (my newbie assumption was Sandisk is faster) cos I felt some kind of 'pulling a fast one' going on. But I didn't act on my spidey sense, and now, oh well. What SD card did you buyers get and would you have insisted on a good one? To be fair, I think I got a good price.
I'm more keen on a bag. Can Pen PL1 owners recommend a bag? Thanks a bunch guys!
I got Kingston for my EP-2. Thought is a norm? SD card are cheap so I don't bother the freebie card much.

I agree,not like in the past,128mb costs a bomb,let alone 256mb :bsmilie:
I'm not sure, all the cameras I've seen at the places I've seen so far are Sandisks
thx for feedback. i know that memory cards get cheaper with time, so no big deal there. was just curious whether the card is given by retailers or the local olympus distributer or what. i did ask them when i saw they gave kingston, but then nothing is stated on the box.
if the shops get the cards as part of the bundle (to be given to buyers), it is a bit unethical to keep those and give out cheaper ones. but then, i guess it's up to them.
