Portraits of a young cat

raptor, yeah... but i too shag to crouch so low. lol... sibei siong to contort. you must be super flexible oh! :sweatsm:

No its just that my shirt and pants get dirty alot cause I end up prone on the floor or squatting/kneeling down ALOT hehe...

i love cats! this cat is such a gem!
no wonder i often see ppl crouching/lying on floor/upside down when taking pics! not to mention your model is a cat! really hard work!

Hey I like your cat series  Very nice indeed! You have pretty good control on depth of field too - I especially like the focus on the cat's face with its body blurred. :)

i would really LOVE to go to ur place and shoot your lovely lil' cat. :)

I tihnk that last pic would have worked out a little better with a square crop :D.. yea go let Brian have a TFCD with your cat :D

Crouching/ lying etc are essential to get good pics. =) As for hard work shooting cats. I doubt so. their attention span is actually pretty long. and their inquisitive nature allows them to be "tricked" and they really stare. for dogs, they tend to be fidgety and closes their eyelid more. hmmz. =)

Anyway, interesting subjects they are. hehe

Hehe if anyone here saw me at the SKC dog show they would know that dogs are much more difficult to take than cats =p (expect for hose really good in obedience).

no time to compose, just whack the shutter button and shoot. this type of expression will be gone in split seconds. lol...

That blob on the lower portion very distracting for me. I know its more of a snap shot but perhaps a crop to isolate that expression might work too?

yeah bro, i thought of that too BUT i did not want to lose one of the paws after cropping (if you can imagine a straight line cutting away the blob). so i left it unedited. that "blob" is from my other cat, baobao. hehe...

Was thinking more of something like this:

Coming from a cat owner's POV, I actually prefer this with parts of Bao Bao in the shot, than to the cropped one by raptor84. Why? That special moment, that day he did it, matters more to me than a technically sound but cropped photo. For me, at least, this photo will remind me more of him 10, 20 years from now than the cropped one which does not show where he is and the fact that Bao Bao was there disturbing everyone. It's more of a sentimental reason than anything else.

BUT, if this is a paid shot for someone else, then I will prefer a technically sound, "amended" photo as I do not have any emotions attached to that pic.

wooo.. i love CATS!
