read alot about EM5. The fanfare of this tiny camera.

wonder how many bros here were formally from DSLR camp? Maybe 90% from this thread are formally a DSLR owner? LOL

I am a dslr user since canon launched the 300D till now that I am using the canon 60D. I am really looking forward to add the em5 to my list and hope that a m4/3 system will finally be able to replace my Dslr. I have owned the ep1 but sold it quite quickly due to the slow focusing speed and lack of evf during the early days.

I use the 5dmkii but have now sold it to fund for my e-m5 setup. I shoot freelance and have made the decision to shoot with the e-m5 as i want to make full returns of my investment-taking family as well as more serious work photos. The 5dmkii sees little time outside of my freelance work. I have used the Pen to shoot weddings (and other stuff as well)before and they give me nice images so far (non-fast moving scenes). Totally inspired by the freedom of movement smaller gear gives me...

Only problem is, idiot Courts gave me a 'late mar-early Apr' collection projection, so had to rely on the good ol'e-620and e-520 for my last shoot.

Am I hearing right that black stock seems to come faster?

Yes black stock available from 2pm but snapped up within few hours. I got mine with 12-50mm kit at around 4pm.

Well...when I got the sms from shop at 2.35pm yesterday about the availability of Black OMD EM5(Yes I pre-ordered on last week),I rushed to that shop and laid my hands on last one of Black em5 and the salesman said it is last set. Without blinking,I bought it on spot and caressed it like the character Scrat of the Ice Age sequels. The End.

Black - saw the silver pre production units at Olympus and the silver colour does not look like chrome plating more like a processed finish similar to that used on the OM-4Ti Champagne model. That was not a good look or reliable finish, it looked shabby very easily. My OM's are a mix of chrome and black, but the "silver"models are all hard chrome plated which is a much more durable finish and nicer looking than the "silver"offering of OM-D

I thought you going to say bro... Caress it like golum did in the lord of the rings "my precious" :-) just kidding may all who pre order came earlier and bought also... I doubt they will sell to those who didn't pre order else they lose face to their customers. And SG is a small country words can easily spread

Ha ha.I do not like LOTR sequels. Only Ice Age sequels especially irreplaceable Scrat the squirrel.
Well,I was told by salesman that it was very last set of Omd black with 12-50mm and many people were still making call or sending text to him to make reservation as they were also on pre-order list. So I visualized myself as Scrat looking at the last nut only left in world, I grabbed the last set in a jiffy. From last Thursday to now,I am still happy Scrat caressed my dear OMD em5 with contended smile.

Actually the DSLR fraternity (the older ones) would have cut their teeth on very similar film cameras to the new OM. I am a long term OM user, I got my first one in 1977 and as the years went by I upgraded ending up with an OM-4Ti, a thoroughly professional camera with features not seen on the latest DSLRs today. It is capable of multiple spot metering anywhere in the frame. see the picture below of my OM-4ti and OM-D side by side

Just to illustrate that it doesn't have to be big to be good!
