Sorry guys,
It's been a rough day today.....
I'm appreaciating CKiang, Avatar, and all others' opinion in this thread. I am not citing I'm the best or Mr Know-it-all, I am actually also learn from other photo pro/enthusiast contributions to this thread. If I made wrong statement please pardon me.

I try not to judge/trash people when I wrote something in the public posting, in return I also despise being trashed by another people.

see how much this new-fangled 24-120VR is and what the quality is like first then decide... the VR will come in very handy for the kinda subjects i shoot... but then i'll miss the f/2.8 on the wide open end.

but if i do decide to let go, will probably be in the $700++ range...

What is this means?
Two can play at the same game.
I wonder if you'll bother to pm me and explain?
And after u explain, I'll tell u I unconvinced and don't expect me to forget so easily.

 :D :D

Ok thanks ;)

Sorry to moderator,
I tried to settle this issue with PM but it seems my counterpart wants to bring this to the forum. I never encounter such a coward.......who doesn't want to keep it personal.

Well at least I tried to explain my sentence. Could you explain yours to me? That is the least in terms of courtesy.

Do you want this to degenerate to name calling? I'm an expert at that?
I don't remember ever calling you any names. PM or public.
But if you raised certain doubts about my integrity in a public forum, I think you owe it to me to close the issue here.

Not just hope that the issue will close itself over time. Or that you'd be excused because yoiu had a rough day.

Ok this going to be my last reply,
You never anwer me in the first place about that question, and Ckiang answer my questions. Then I know I already you are Nikon user. I am just asking, I am not trying to telling someone or act smart by telling that he bought wrong equipment, bought equipment without thinking..........

Black and white proof of degrading statement that directed to me:

(NO sarcasm, ill malice whatsoever) Then I think you got into the wrong brand without doing the right research. With your outlook and/or thinking in terms of your photography hobby, Canon would have been better for you...

Yes, in the same way you mistook my comment as insulting, I am now mistaking your comment as insulting.
Why? Are you insinuating that I got no money to play with AFS isit? How does it feel to have someone accuse you of something you didn't do?

people who know me will prolly know I'm laughing my head off now. :D :D (because I'm a flame-baiting troll, who absolutely loves making people uncomfortable - and when I'm flame-baiting, rest assured I'll not add a disclaimer.) - edited so that people don't think that I'm rich or have too much money to "play" AFS, and a couple of typo :D

(Why I previously said, Internet very dangerous to post in unless you know the person personally.)

Ok guys. Time to cool down, and let's not turn a healthy discussion into a fight, ok?

What we want is the AFS/ED/VR on the good lenses like the 28-85, 28-105, etc., not the 24-120 which doesn't have a good track record.

Better still, an AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8G ED-IF for like < $1,000.

CK

Are you sure they use the same optic for the 24-120D on the new lens? Maybe the optic is entirely different.

I read that maybe it's not the same. Maybe i read wrongly.

At this point, we're basing the performance of the lens on a predecessor ("track record"). Well, it could very well be a stellar performer for all we know.

So let's see the lens (the whole lens and not it's nomenclature) before we decide whether it's good or not.

I think CK's just disappointed that there's no D2, D200, S3Pro.
So CK, can stop waiting and go ahead buy the S2Pro liao!

BUY BUY BUY
