Which part of England is this?
i focused on the lit grass first, then switched to manual focusing, and used a moderately high f/stop. bump up iso to make sure no motion blur. was actually shooting the trees, then saw people coming, tried cyclists didn't work so was lucky the dog and master came along.

sir...why do you focus on the grass? to read the exif setting? den switch to M, upped the f-stop?

This guy appeared at home last night, the span of the legs was almost 10cm I think. But it totally didn't mind modelling for me.Tamron 90mm with a bit of cropping.

Thanks! The spider was standing on the wall almost right at a corner of the room, near the ceiling. So I swiveled the flash to bounce off the wall on the right. I suppose being at a corner means that the ceiling also acts as another diffuser to provide fill-in from the top
