Yup... The K100Ds are know to perform better than K10D for IR.

In his case, yes. But you will also need to change the white balance.
And maybe some post-processing adjustments...
I've trying to take IRs for ages, but it doesn't work well for K10D.
Esp. not with the Sigma17-70....
he is using a K100D...hmm..maybe i shall give it a shot...

adiknaim - yes, ir filter over the lens and more importantly, tripod and at least a close WB (doesn't need to be correct, just shoot in RAW and correct later on gives good results too). alternatively, you can modify your camera, but it will ONLY take ir shots from then on, albeit with faster shutter speeds. something i plan to do soon :devil:
yes, k10d is not quite as sensitive to ir, and seems to give funny colours, i have not figured out how to do it properly but istDS seems to have mastered it, maybe can ask him for tips. the sigma 17-70 seems to be an anti-ir lens - has hotspotting according to the ir regulars here in clubsnap.

Dunno whether its appropriate or it doesn't matter to anyone kind of announcement. My pics here will be remove within these 2 weeks cos i will remove them all in my flickr. My flickr is a mess, i dun keep track and once over 200 pics the old ones are MIA cos i din note down their link, i need to reorganise them so i decided to remove all and upload again from fresh.

I hav photobucket, still prefer flickr... i will think of someway to keep those photos i posted...

Went to the zoo w/ the kids over the weekend. This time I didn't bring the long FA*300/4.5 lens but a bigger but shorter FA*80-200/2.8 with me. Here are some photos to share. All taken by K20D+FA*80-200/2.8, some of them are heavily cropped. Next time if we go to the zoo again, I'd bring the FA*300/4.5. 200mm is just too short most time
