Excellent captures

Got a chance to test out a Tamron 300mm F2.8 SP AF lens on my K20D, quite a big lens, AF is super fast. Pity I didn't have a tripod or monopod w/ me when testing it out. Here are some quick snaps from this monster:

Borrowed lah. Haven't made the decision if I should buy a 300/2.8 lens. Some one please, take my FA*300/4.5 so I'd have some extra money for a faster one ;p

2 ways to do it. But I find the best way dun work well with Pentax...

1. Use f8-f22, ISO100, 2-3s in low light. Then capture the droplet with self triggered test flash. Meaning using flash speed to capture the droplet. (how most pro does it)

2. Use f8-f16, ISO100, P-TTL 1/2000s to capture the droplet. As long the droplet comes down in a constant speed, u'll be able to capture it.

Some pics of my friends' 4 months-old Jack Russell puppy. He was truly the physical manifestation of the word "hyperactive", really hard to get a decent shot of him, so had to shoot wide, then crop generously.

Thanks longko for the tips on flash photography for pets, this guy would have been impossible without flash!

Nothing like some self-sacrifice to keep him still for a moment....

You did well for 1st try^^ IIRC, a friend told me that Lundy (Clubpets Magazine photographer) told her that JRT are the hardest to capture:sweat:

back after a long hiatus, taking a breather by surfing clubsnap before plunging back to work:

here's a simple one by the sigma 24mm / 2.8, which I didn't manage to sell, and which have turned into one of my fave walkarounds after that.

Yeah, it's a nice lens. But can't afford it right now (borrowed it from a friend), unless someone takes my FA*300/4.5 ;p

Sometimes I'm thinking to get such a lens or a longer 400/5.6. Anyway i can't afford right now.:(
