Super-nice lah, Kenny! Congrats.
Maybe u shd do this every mth then can see the different faces.

Thanks Hamustar. That is a brilliant idea. Over the course of the year, we can see all facets of the moon ... and perhaps ChangEr and the Rabbit (plus mooncakes) too! :bsmilie:

Erm, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the moon spins at the same rate as its orbit, so we always see the same face? We only get to see the other side of the moon from pictures taken by space missions....

Exactly..as long as the subjects are far away and in a straight line perpendicular to your line of sight, it's reasonable ..not great, but can be coaxed into giving a decent photo or two. Actually, you can also get the same result without AF-C..even manual prefocusing works;p. It's when the subject moves towards you that the tension begins.

That's right, SAFOX VIII has no predictive tracking AFAIK. It just seems to redo the focus every n seconds and if your subject is at the selected focus point, you're in luck, it will focus, otherwise, it hunts all over again.

That said, none of the middle-range cams from the others have predictive tracking AFAIK. Among the APS-C offerings, only the 50D, A700 and D300 have predictive tracking...the last two being pretty damn good.

That is why I feel K7 is still behind (SAFOX VIII has no predictive tracking AFAIK.)... This factor encourage potenial buyer stay put with the current system. alogrim.... improves though.

This guy's cute! But the poor thing's nose is peeling... :bsmilie: Hope it didn't have a run in with your second subject!

nah it was safe.. here's one bug that wasn't so lucky..

hardest shot to take, the web was 2m above ground had to stand on a shaky log and do the rocking focus thing.

Alvan, love your Yogya pics. And the B&W treatment is great. (Lightroom preset?)

Some test shots from my Sigma 17-70 Macro and DIY O-ring flash attachment. (With heavy cropping of course. I can only get 1:2.3 at best)

Angles are nothing to shout about since I don't have patience to wait for the bugs to face me. :bsmilie: Lighting wise, the DIY attachment is a success.
