It was under-exposed, so I have to adjust brightness in PS.

Des, fantastic shot! Just love the tone, and composition ...

Thanks Bernard.

Agreed. That's an excellent shot by Desmond.
By his expression, the chameleon (?) seems to be disdainfully looking down upon us:bsmilie:

Thanks Skypacker. It is a Changeable Lizard. In the breeding season, the throat of the male becomes red and black.;)

This one look a bit flat, maybe you want to tweak the curve to make it bit more puchy.:)

Thanks Desmond.

I thot so too but resisted making changes (just cropped) to photo to highlight the use of the converter.

Regards :)

A bit noisy because it was pushed a lot in PP.

This one has a nice mood but I think your earlier post has a very nice overall colour balance.

What little I know = watch the camera angle and height to subject, select backgrounds carefully, observe the shape of the subject's face and how key light lights up the face, observe the shadows especially for nose, cheeks and side of face. Got lots of books on portraiture shooting but recently I find watching instructional DVDs just as useful.

yes, same as any other genre, spend a lot of time looking at good pictures, or what are perceived as good pictures.

in which case, this will leave out visiting the P&P sub forum, if you get what i mean, for the most part anyways. but you can take a look at will03's works.. :) these are pretty good for someone new, if you ask me, though perhaps some work can be done on the face to smoothen it out a wee bit more.
