Physically yeah but price wise I think my lenses ratio against the other bros.... are 3:1 or even 4:1 lolz

It will be awesome for bros here to compare and see which lens fits their requirement as u haf a good collection of different focal lengths to do comparison with. It might not be comprehensive enough but good enough for us to check it out. Thanks.

How u define the lens ratio? Haha... For me, I usually shoot 35s and 50s. Just need a ultra wide angle and waiting for the Zeiss 12mm X Mount. In total, I haf 3 X 35s, 1 X 50 & a Sigma 19 as U can see from my signature. Each for specific type of shot but the CV 35-1.7 & Sigma 19 is only used by my wife on her NEX F3. I just ordered the CY to X Mount adapter so I can use the Contax Zeiss Planar 50-1.7 on my X-E1. Keke...

hi guys, would like to buy a solid portrait lens for nex 7, any recommendations? budget <3k, thanks

if you dont mind MF (legacy Lenses) and you have that huge budget you can look at Leica-M or Leica-R lenses from 50mm to 90mm are good portraits lens for apsc size sensor else you can go until 135mm

some lenses that affordable are

Leica-R 50 f2, Leica-r 90 f2 and Leica-R 135 f2.8 with your budget and yo can find a good deal you can get all of these lenses :-). If you're looking for native e-mount AF lenses sadly there are none as of the moment unless you want those 18-200mm lenses

hehe I shoot mainly around 50 to 90 would like to have the 35 range to complete my selection and maybe one good wide or uwa for now siggy 19mm is what I have. I have some A-mount but after using NEX-7 I am now thinking if I still move to A99 or go all the way mirrorless. Fuji X series seems a good trade off as it's design similarly as the old school range finder and has enough button and scroll to replace a DSLR :-).... Let see how it goes but I might start to release my A-mount lenses and body....

Do start off loading what u dun need bro... X series is somewhat refreshing for me. I have very little complains, AF might not be as fast as NEX 7 though. Haha. But in terms of IQ, Sharpness of Kit Lens, Contrast & Bokeh from the Kit Lens, I do feel X Series does haf an edge, pardon me since we r on the NEX 7 Photo thread. Just sharing my tots, dun mind me. Thanks.

As all might know, a good 50mm lens isnt very hard to make by today's standard and even with those legacy vintage lenses. My copy of CZ Planar 50-1.7 costs less than my Fuji XF 35 Kit Lens but performs amazingly. For 35mm lenses, it's a different story though. If you are looking for a good 35mm lens, especially MF, go for the Leica M 35 Summicron or Summilux, even Pre ASPH is quite good for general shooting if U dun need that super tack sharpness from the ASPH versions.

Others I can think of is Zeiss 35 or CV 35 ASPH (Nokton or Ultron). I heard that the Konica Hexanon 35s are quite good too. If you have the LTM to M adapter, maybe can try some Canon or Nikkor 35s.. Cheers.

Bro, please define solid? Sharpness? Bokeh? Contrast? IQ? If you are looking for 50mm Manual Focus lenses, then there are alot of 50s U can buy with yr present budget of less than 3k. High End stuff? Go for Leica M 50s, less than 3k can get u quite good 50 Summilux pre ASPH lens. If u dun need the f/1.4 aperture and the glowy dreamy portraiture looks on your portrait shots @ f/1.4, then skip this 50 Summilux pre ASPH. Go for the Leica Summicron 50 Pre ASPH, still sharp enuff and Bokeh is quite creamy enuff for you.

Alternatively, U can save some money if you go for other 50s make like Voigtlander or Carl Zeiss which will cost less than 2k. Canon & Nikkor 50s are quite good too but U need LTM to M adapter for these. Cheers

i have Tammy 60mm for nex7 now with adaptor, just feel like upgrading this lens for best portrait result i can get, of course incl sharpness bokeh etc etc lah bro:)

bro, -m and -r, which is better?

M lighter . think most of the lens $$ abit higher than R

I swear by M though... coz easier to find M to X or NEX mount adapters with Helicoid to cut down MFD rather than R to X or M mount adapters.. LOL
