Quite like the Bokeh on some pics here... some seemed kinda harsh...

yeah not the best bokeh machine but good enough :-) I need to try this on human see how it renders the skin... :-)

thanks bro for poison lolz but seriously speaking thanks for the info yeah will go look around and read some feedbacks and sample photos see which one I would like. I need to search some famous 2nd hand legacy lenses places in HK my wife given me 1 day for my poison and the rest will be with family... so must prep good and plan my attack well so I wont spend time looking around I would want to recon then go for the kill fast so I could cover more grounds lolz

I got 3 places to suggest if you wanna search for legacy lenses in HK.

1. Stanley Street, Champagne Court, along Nathan Road (in a small street so you gotta take note which one as there are many along Nathan Road)
2. Sim City in Mongkok (just a small entrance opposite the MacDonalds which is also having a small entrance btw)
3. Central in HK Island, the computer mall that has alot of IT shops (also quite a handful of photography shops within it)

Maybe some other bros can pinpoint some other good places I had missed out.

Seriously, on price point, do check out HKLFC website and you can PM the seller if a good offer comes on just days before you reach HK. It will prove worthwhile to save you quite abit so you can buy other stuff like tripods, bags or accessories when in HK. Enjoy the trip...

wondering now if i should sell my NEX-7 with CV 35 f1.2 apsh 2 for the RX1

:bsmilie:

tempting

I tot u would keep the nex 7 with cv35mm and still buy the rx1 and maybe A99? hahaha

Going back to NEX7 pictures so atleast the mods will not get angry lah...

okie more sample shots taken by this M39 smallish Jupiter-3 50mm f1.5 which Russian copied the CZ Sonnar 50mm f1.5 design.

Some of the background blur are rather harsh i agree but some are quite nice and sharp... The bar in the first pics has this glow and the bottom overlap with the blackground blur look abit weird to me hahaha....

yep that's Russian lens for you lolz. Need to try more on human subjects this lens was said to be good for portraits the 1st portraits I did was with high ISO I need to try with the base ISO of NEX-7 see how good this is. But I still like this lens it renders differently from my other 50mm lenses :-)

Ahh... interesting lens... but not to my preference though, in terms of the output... ;)

Back to pictures from the NEX-7 . . . with 24mm f/2.8 Elmarit-R . . .

The edges soften gracefully, maintaining contrast and without CA, obviously by design. Even so, one could still print to 30X45cm with good sharpness across the frame. In the center it's sharper than any wide I've ever used.

Like the look and feel of these shots. At what apertures may I know? Should be good for environmental portraits closer to the subjects at F4/5.6.

Both shots were at f/5.6. F/4 to f/5.6 seems to be the sweet spot for this lens. Stopping down more diminishes contrast in the corners, making them appear a tiny bit less sharp.

I'm always confuse with the aperture... i post one at newbie corner regarding that..

Just wondering, is the right term call "diffraction"?

IIRC, Erwin Puts says diffraction starts to occur in this lens after f/11. So I don't really know what the term is for the small difference I see at f/8. My aging eyes or my imagination, maybe? ;)

Can re CLA n c if it improves? How old is this lens btw?

There's nothing wrong with the lens. It shoots exactly the way it was designed to shoot. In "R years," it's a recent copy.

Ooo.. maybe its just d character of the lens...

There's something about crows I like . . . maybe it's the fact that they're the most intelligent birds. But, being of just one color, they're also hard to photograph . . . unless one gets lucky with falling light.

NEX-7 with 180mm APO . . . f/4, I think, cropped at around 40% . . .
