I shoot raw and spot metering. Very little processing except a little tone curve and contrast set to zero in CS5. 5N spot metering is good for small subjects like birds as it totally disregard the other surrounding. Since I was using a 200f4 lens set to f8, I used shutter priority 1/500 and auto ISO. Some of the same set of photos showed ISO 160 but when the subject is black, the ISO can go up to 3200. I wish the auto ISO can be controlled. It was also a very bright day.

Have you tried the SEL 50mm F3.5 Macro ? That's the only native E mount macro now.
