Pictures from Nex-5N

Finally, a self portrait :)

NEX 5N at Raffles Place around noon. Sigma 8-16 at 8mm around F5.6. Some with AutoHDR on. Between the Exmor sensor's dynamic range and Sony's HDR, I was getting images I couldn't just a few years ago.

A few more

Nice photos. I am not a landscape guy like you, so, in your opinion, how is NEX 5N against the K5 in this genre. I used to like my K5 becuase it could do ISO 80 and at this ISO, the DR is really fantastic. Can I see some photos of the 5N with the 31 ltd as I had this lens before and am familiar with its rendering style? Thanks.

I haven't shot the 5N with the 31ltd, but I did with my previous C3, which is almost the same 16MP sensor. However, I was limited to ISO200 in the C3. The results are excellent. If I have time tomorrow, I will take some 5N shots at ISO100, but I'm sure they will be good too.

Is it just me or the recent NEX-5n photos posted lacks color and the 'oomph' factor?

Please illustrate what you meant by "lacks color and the 'oomph' factor". We sure would like to learn from you if you have any of your photos to show us. Thanks.

Perhaps he is influenced by the 90+ pages of Fred Miranda photos from the link you posted (Thanks btw! I got through about 60 of them). Is it possible that cultural factors and geographic latitude affects perception of what constitutes pleasing color and contrast?
IMO, the pictures in this CS thread look more natural because of the quality of sunlight we get where we live. The FM pics look over processed in comparison.

i guess bro A Whale just feels that the images are not as saturated as others have been posting. but then again, the saturation of colors is up to the individual.

Most lens would flare when shot into the sun even the $$$ ones, the trick is how you shade it so as to minimise the flares.
The Sigma UWAs are highly regarded and I can see why from Bro Tsammyc photos.

Yes, I really enjoy the FM NEX images thread a lot. Read from all pages more than once. It inspires me to get the 5N with EVF. I am excited about this camera because I can start using those C/Y lens that I have owned for 20 yrs again. I picked up an ZM 18mm for the wide.

I have in fact posted some of my photos at the FM NEX thread. Since the thread was mentioned here, let me also share fews here:

ZM 18mm:

Enjoys.

Few more here. These were taken in the middle of a hot afternoon. So very high contrast.

Maybe it is just my sense of perception . And yeah ive been browsing through alot of landscape photos taken by the NEX-5 on other websites. The pictures here are as sharp as always but the contrast seems to be lacking.. im not a landscape photographer to begin with and hence I am most likely influenced by the geographical impact :D

I hope these are colorful enough for ya
