I think you are referring to the chromatic aberration fringes; some camera manufacturer uses their processor to remove it before you see it.

I have problems with viewing RAW files taken from LX3.

I downloaded the codec from panasonic's webby but the thumbnails are still not showing the pictures, what should i do?

please help..:what:

Download camera raw plugin for PS/Bridge. At least that's what I do.

(:

I Love my LX-3 ... you can just take fantastic photographs anywhere!

Despite trying to resolve the distortion, I still feel the left hand side a little affected... could be the PS or it's just the land slowly sloping down from the right?

Just rotate your picture clockwise.

i have some queries on lx3,

1. Im using ISO 100 for my shoot with f2 aperture priority mode, the shutter speed determined by the camera most of the time will be slower than 1/4s which made handheld shot blurry. if using manual mode to adjust faster shutter speed, it will be under-exposed. How to overcome this other than using tripod? ISO200 and above seems to have lot of noise when shooting jpeg.

2. Despite in-camera correction of barrel distortion for jpeg, i still get distortion when the subject is not at the centre! esp when taking portrait. anybody experiencing this as well?

3. in standard film mode, how much sharpening & NR do you guys use? 0 or -1?

thanks

1. try using program mode and up the ISO to about 400. Personally i can tolerate the noise level to 400. 200 is good as I dont see much noise.

2. Im not sure about this

3. I use nostalgic film mode: contrast + 2 , sharpness 0, saturation +1, NR -2

hope this helps

Hi Bro, Bought the LX3 after seeing your pic in the high dynamic mode....Really nice pic taken for a pns camera. Try out the HD mode with art filter after i bought....And guess what, it really works!!! Nice night shot taken easily!!! Thanks Bro!!:)

Whats Art Filter?

You need to click to "All Sizes" of your desired picture in your Flickr photostream.
Right mouse click on the larger image and select "copy image location or link" (something similar). This will copy the URL of the image into the clipboard (or memory).

Click on this icon:
insertimage.gif
on the toolbar at the top of the message box.

And paste the URL into the dialog box. (right mouse click - paste)

Hello ylime,

LX3 can produce very nice B/W photos using its dynamic B/W mode OR very vibrant colored photo using its Vibrant or dynamic color mode.
BUT mixture of both, you got to post process the photo.

Even for canon - its only for 1 color which is color swap feature.

The rest of the brand i not sure ... too ..
